San Diego Great Outdoors
Mount Laguna Campout
El Prado Campground
“Buckwheat”
July 10th to 14th, 2015
Join the San Diego Chapter of the Great Outdoors in a pre-pride outdoors celebration in the beautiful
Laguna Mountains. We have reserved the “Buckwheat” group site in the El Prado Campground next to
Laguna Meadows.
Mt Laguna is located on the eastern edge of the Cleveland National Forests, east of San Diego at 6,000
feet above sea level. Several day hikes into and around the meadows have been scheduled with a free day
on Monday. Hike, bike, bask in the sun or just enjoy a peaceful day outdoors.
On Saturday night we will tour the Mt Laguna Observatory with the opportunity to see the star's
through a 40 inch reflector telescope. The moon phase for July 11th is waning crescent with only 19% of
the Moon's visible disk illuminated, so our outing to the Mt Laguna Observatory will be spectacular.
We have reserved the Buckwheat group site for up to 50 campers from Friday at 2pm until Tuesday at
noon. Please join us for an extended weekend under the star's.
