December 2014. Head2Head’s client is the leading choice for dependable, healthcare-focused transportation in Canada. The company sought a recruitment partner to facilitate an urgent, high-volume hiring initiative. As business demands dictated, the company needed to hire 30 Drivers throughout five B.C. locations within an 8-week period. The company’s internal recruitment team required assistance to remotely source and screen candidates, schedule interviews and conduct background checks. Factoring in the remote locations, short timeframe, and the year-end holiday season, the project presented a number unique challenges. Additionally, the Driver positions required a specific combination of technical credentials, and customer service acumen to be considered by the company’s Hiring Managers. Head2Head was tasked with designing and implementing a customized Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) program to support the company in achieving 30 qualified hires for a targeted start date in early February, 2015. Head2Head initiated a proactive candidate sourcing strategy to generate a list of qualified, interested, and available candidates for the client’s customer-focused Driver role. Head2Head leveraged professional networking groups and geo-targeted online ads in Kamloops, Penticton, Vernon, Cranbrook and Trail in order to expand reach within the more remote communities. Candidates were encouraged to apply to a central e-mail inbox that was monitored by a dedicated recruiter and project administrators. Head2Head utilized an applicant tracking system as a central database to ensure that all candidates were recorded, accounted for, and contacted. Head2Head also handled the administrative functions of conducting background checks and criminal reference checks, reallocating valuable time and resources within the client’s internal team to focus on other strategic activities. Our client was surprised and impressed by the results that Head2Head achieved while working against tight deadlines and a normally bleak state of hiring during the holiday season. Hiring Managers and candidates felt that they were given an excellent experience through Head2Head’s responsive and personable team. With more than enough qualified Drivers to choose from, Hiring Managers reluctantly had to turn down a number of top tier prospects. Within 46 days, Head2Head achieved: 593 sourced applicants 246 phone screens 58 candidate interviews 28 hires All costs accounted for, the client spent less than $1,100.00 per hire.
