HOLLYWOOD SOFTWARE SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH
STX ENTERTAINMENT
TO UTILIZE ITS DISTRIBUTOR SOFTWARE
FOR DISTRIBUTION
LOS ANGELES, CA, April 20, 2015 – Woodland Hills-based Hollywood Software announced today
that it has signed an exclusive deal with motion picture and television studio STX Entertainment
to use Hollywood Software’s Distributor software for its core distribution needs. Distributor
manages theatrical distribution across multiple territories from a single application. Hollywood
Software’s system was chosen over several competitors for its ease of use, wide-reaching
functionality and speed.
“STX Entertainment has all the advantages of being a brand new studio,” said David Gajda,
Executive Chairman, Hollywood Software. “They are a clean slate able to take advantage of
established best practices developed over many years of distribution experience. When
compared to other software on the market, we believe our recent migration to the cloud and
our system’s impressive response time made us the ideal choice for STX. We are excited to give
them the tools they need as they get ready to release their first slate of films.”
“After researching all of the software in this unique space, we felt that the Distributor product
was the best system in the marketplace today,” said Kevin Grayson, President, Domestic
Theatrical Distribution for the STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group. “Hollywood Software
has shared with us their long-range plans for further enhancements and software development,
and we could not be more impressed with their product or commitment to creating the best,
state-of-the-industry software today.”
“Hollywood Software worked closely with STX Entertainment to arrive at this deal,” added Larry
McCourt, SVP Sales & Marketing, Hollywood Software. “We provided a flexible plan that met
their needs quickly and efficiently, allowing room for expansion in the years to come. We look
forward to being an integral part of their future growth.”
