Living and Deceased Members of
Holy Infant Church
Dear Parishioners,
Easter peace be with you! This season brings with it the greatest
celebra on of our Catholic faith. As St. Paul told the church in
Corinth, “If Christ has not been raised, then empty is our
preaching; empty, too, your faith.” (1 Cor 15:14). The belief that
Jesus Christ vanquished death by His Cross and Resurrec on from
the tomb cons tutes our claim to being a Chris an. What joy and
purpose the Easter mystery should give to our lives – not just on
Easter Sunday, but every day. Alleluia!
The pool of bap sm yields life not only at Easter but throughout
the year. In the past 12 months here at Holy Infant we have had
135 bap sms! Life is definitely strong in our community. Thanks
be to God for this blessing of vitality!
As many of you are aware, on many Sundays—especially Easter—
we find new faces at Holy Infant. Some are a racted to the
friendliness of our parish, the energy and vibrancy of our
community or the music at our worship. Thanks to all who so
generously extend such a warm welcome to those who come to
our parish!
In the name of Fr. Anstoe er, Fr. Vordtriede, myself, Deacon Dan
Henke, Deacon Dan Raidt, Sr. Rosario, Sr. Lauren a, our School and
Parish School of Religion, and all our staff, may the blessings of
Easter come to you and your loved ones.
A Blessed Easter!

Adoration of Our Lord
“Come, let us worship the Lord. Let us
bow down in the presence of our Maker, for
He is the Lord our God.” (Ps 94:6-7)
Come adore Our Lord. It is an opportunity to visit
God. There is always a need for faithful adorers,
please consider committing to a specific hour.
Visit Christ in Eucharistic Adoration.

Alleluia! He is Risen!
This is the night, when Christ broke the prison bars of
death and rose victorious from the underworld.
Our birth would have been no gain,
had we not been redeemed.
O wonder of your humble care for us!
O love, O charity beyond all telling,
to ransom a slave you gave away your Son!
O truly necessary sin of Adam, destroyed completely
by the Death of Christ!
O happy fault that earned so great,
so glorious a Redeemer.
O truly blessed night worthy alone to know the time
and hour when Christ rose from the underworld!

Do you know someone who is going through tough
times—illness, stress or loss? You might consider
stopping by the parish office and picking up a Prayer
Shawl to give to this person. Prayer Shawls are made by
parishioners, blessed by the priests and prayed over by
the Joyful Hope Prayer group, so the person will be
wrapped in the prayers of many caring people. The
shawls can be given to children or adults. The recipient
doesn’t need to belong to the parish or even be Catholic.
There is no charge but donations are welcome so the
ministry can buy more yarn/fleece. Donations of yarn are
always appreciated. Please contact Kathie, listed below.
Interested in joining this Ministry? Do you like to knit,
crochet or cut fleece? The Prayer Shawl Ministry would
love to have your caring hands. Call or email Kathie at
gkhanneke@gmail.com or (314) 704-2350.

Easter
“Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise
from the dead on the third day” (Luke 24:46). The Church
celebrates Easter as the feasts of feasts. This celebration
of the resurrection of Christ continues until Pentecost,
which is seen as the birth of the Church. “And if Christ
has not been raised, then empty (too) is our preaching;
empty, too, your faith” (1 Corinthians 15:14). Have a
blessed Easter.

Jonah Prayer is a ministry of prayer for and with others.
Praying with others helps to affirm our faith as a
community; it opens the door for healing through the Holy
Spirit and helps us experience joy through difficulty,
perseverance and gratitude in all circumstances that life
brings. Jonah Prayer ministers are ordinary people who
are approved by the pastor for this ministry. It is a ministry
through which all can recognize the power of the Holy
Spirit working in the lives of a parish community.
For those interested in joining the Jonah Ministry, there
will be a training session on Saturday, April 18 at the
Rigali Center from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Ebo Room.
Contact Marty Scrima at (636) 891-9744 to obtain an
application.
I pray these days of blessing for you and your loved
ones.
C
If you cannot participate at this time but would like us to
pray for you during the weekend, place your prayer
requests in the “Christ Renews His Parish” box in the back
of church.
Easter is to the Church year what Sunday is to each
week—a highlight of rest and rejoicing. Its vivid symbols
of fire, water and exultant song remind us that Christ
has overcome sin and death. Because of that we know,
in the words of Pope Francis, that when everything is
said and done, we are infinitely loved by God.

The Importance of Divine Mercy Sunday
Our Lord’s promise to grant complete forgiveness of sins and punishment on the Feast of
Mercy is recorded three mes in the Diary of Blessed Faus na. Jesus tells her…..
I want to grant complete pardon to the souls that will go to Confession
and receive the Eucharist on the Feast of Mercy (1109).
Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted
complete forgiveness of sins and punishment (300).
The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion will obtain complete
forgiveness of sins and punishment (699).
Our Lord is emphasizing, through this promise, the infinite value of Confession and Communion as miracles of
mercy. Think about it. He wants us to realize that, since the Eucharist is His own Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, it
is the Fountain of Life (300).
Why would Our Lord feel the need to emphasize this? Because so many people do not really understand it. They
see no need to receive Holy Communion, or they receive it simply out of habit.
How painful it is to Me that souls so seldom unite themselves to Me in Holy Communion.
I wait for souls and they are indifferent toward Me. I want to lavish
My graces on them and they do not want to accept them. They treat me as a
dead object, whereas My Heart is full of love and mercy (1447).
So the Feast of Mercy is both a reminder and a call. It is a reminder that He is truly present and alive in the
Eucharist, filled with love for us and wai ng for us to turn to Him with trust. It is a clear call for us all to be washed
clean in His Love through Confession and Communion. No mater how terrible our sins, God’s mercy is greater than
them. God is not promising a single grace, but unlimited graces.
On that day, the very depths of My tender mercy are open.
I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fountain of My mercy.
On that day, all the Divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened.
We Should observe the Feast of Mercy by:
•
•
•
•
•

•
Celebra ng the Feast on the Sunday a er Easter
Sincerely repent of all our sins
Placing our complete trust in Jesus
Going to Confession, preferably before that Sunday

Guide Book and Directory. This book will be the Who,
What, Where, When, Why and How of our Parish. The
book is being provided at no cost to our Church, including
the mailing to each family, and again is being subsidized
by local businesses that advertise in it. If you own or
manage a business and would like to find out about
advertising in our book, please call the Parish Office,
(636) 227-7440, during office hours. Survey results by
Guide Book Publishing show that 92% of families would
rather patronize a Guide Book and Directory advertiser
over a non-advertiser. “It will pay you” to advertise in our
next Guide Book and Directory.
