It is a team oriented camp that will focus on educating the young runner and his/her coach. Learning and instruction for both the athlete and coaches. Sessions with current college runners discussing recruiting, college running and balancing the daily college life. Dates: July 26th-28th, 2015 Eligibility: Athletes entering 9th-12th grades. Location: Wabash College, Crawfordsville, IN. Cost: $200 for team campers. $250 for individual campers. Fee includes room/board, t-shirt, and camper folder. Application deadline is July 20th. Make checks payable to: Roger Busch *FREE lodging, meals, and instruction for coaches who bring 10 or more campers. Or $100/coach. Food: Meals will be provided by Wabash’s food service, Bon Appetit. Housing: All campers will be housed in Wabash residence halls. Supervision will be provided at all times. Check-in: Campers will report to the Allen Center at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 26th for check in. What to bring: Running clothes, two pairs of running shoes, casual clothes, swimsuit, soap, towels, personal articles, sleeping bag, pillow and linens. Money: Only for additional spending money. All necessary expenses are included. Insurance: All campers are covered by a group insurance policy provided by the camp. Supervision: All campers staying on campus will be supervised by camp counselors. No one is permitted to leave campus without the permission of the camp directors. Guest Speakers Andrew Poore Camp Directors Roger Busch Coach Poore is currently an Assistant Coach at Indiana University after a successful career as a studentathlete and volunteer coach for the program. Poore earned six All-America honors and two Big Ten Championships during his time at IU. Poore finished in fourth-place in the 3,000m steeplechase at the 2013 USA Championships. Poore has been volunteer coaching with the Hoosiers since his graduation from Indiana in 2012. Scott & Sarah Gall Scott and Sarah Gall, owners of The Runner’s Flat in Cedar Falls, IA, have been into running and fitness since their grade school years. Scott’s first 1/2 Marathon was at age 9. With uncles who were collegiate distance runners and a father who was a collegiate athlete, they were introduced early to endurance sports. Both ran collegiately and also qualified for the US Olympic Trials, Scott in the Marathon and Sarah in the Steeple Chase. Previously members of both the US Mountain Running Team and the US Snowshoe Team, as well as pro licenses on the Xterra, off-road triathlon circuit, Sarah and Scott have lived a life that exhibits keen focus on healthy living and fitness. Under Busch's guidance, the Wabash cross country team has won three Conference titles and two NCAA Great Lakes Regional titles. He has earned Regional and Conference Coach of the Year honors three times. The Little Giants have placed 13th, 16th, 28th, 21st and 16th at the NCAA DIII Championships from 2010 -2014. On the track, he has coached 2 indoor NCAA National Champions in the 800 and one in the mile. Overall, Busch has coached 15 individual AllAmerican T&F awards while at Wabash. Zach Raber Coach Raber is currently the Cross-Country coach and Associate Head Track Coach at Trine University. Prior to Trine, Raber spent 11 years at Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He led the Charger men to five Sectional titles, five Regional titles, and two Semi-State titles. Carroll’s boys finished 2nd at the Indiana State Championship twice. On the women’s side, Raber tallied 11 consecutive titles at Sectional and Regional meets. The Lady Chargers also won four Semi-State titles and finished in the top five at the Indiana State Championship three times. Raber has helped 25 athletes to All-State finishes for both track and cross-country, including three state champions. Numerous athletes under Raber’s guidance have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. An 11-time nominee for Indiana Cross-Country Coach of the Year, Raber won the award for boy’s cross-country in 2012.
