Thank you for buying a ticket to Party in the Park II! We have masses planned for the day so really
hope you will enjoy it. With less than 2 weeks to go, this information is designed to help you get the

The weather
Let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first! What will happen if it rains? If heavy rain is predicted all
day then unfortunately the event will be cancelled. Obviously we really hope that this won’t happen!
If there are just a couple of light rain showers then we will still go ahead so please do come and
support us!
Tickets on the door
If you wish to buy more tickets on the door you will be able to do so, paying by cash or cheque.
Ticket prices £28 family (up to 2 adults, 3 kids), £12 adult and £7 child/student.
The Musical Lineup
There will be fantastic sounds throughout the day! All timings are approximate and subject to
change.

Quivers & Bows

'Quiver'n'Bows' is an Aldbury based group of musicians who all play in local
symphony and chamber orchestras and come together to play string chamber music.
Today we are playing arrangements for string quartet of music by George Gershwin
and others.
Chris & Charlie
3.55-4.15
Chris and Charlie are Tring school students and this is their second gig together. They
will be doing three songs: The Script – Breakeven, Sum 41-Pieces and Stone Sour,
Through Glass. They will be available for autographs for the rest of the afternoon.
Dudley Moor Radford
4.30-5.00
Dudley , playing classical guitar will play a range of pieces by Rodrigo, Paco de Lucia ,
Santana and John Williams.
Magic Rucksack
Diyar and George have been collaborating musically for nearly 3 years on songwriting
and production. We’ve performed as part of The Sky is Up band at the Trooper twice
and more recently there as a duo.
Diyar is a prolific song writer. In partnership with Tim Evans (currently on a world
tour…err sightseeing) and sometimes as a team of 3, more than 100 songs have been
written. We’re now looking to evolve recorded versions (that’s George’s bit) into live
performances. We are privileged to be joined by Damian Watson (drums and bass),
Tom Nicholls (everything!... but on this occasion at least guitar and drums) and Jess
Harvey (vocals). All the songs we play will be original material. Hope you like them!

Notes Unlimited
Notes Unlimited is an informal and friendly choir run by Penny Cobb, with Jackie
Robinson on piano, for anyone who enjoys singing. We have around 35 members of
all ages and abilities and you don’t have to read music to take part. We sing for
pleasure and occasionally for friends and family and our rehearsals are always lighthearted and enjoyable. Party in the Park will be our very first public appearance! If
you enjoy our performance and would like to join us, contact Barbara Harvey on
01442 851550 or just come along. Our autumn sessions start on September 11th and
we meet from 4pm-6pm in Aldbury’s school hall.

The Disclaimers
The Disclaimers were formed by Aldbury architect David Kirkland and Tring Station
Project Manager Paul ‘Pab’ Trimingham, and from small acoustic beginnings the
seeds were sown for a much bigger electric sound, although smaller pay cheques.
After several fiercely competitive auditions, they decided to nurture a collective of
fellow professionals and students, so they go on the road with several different lineups - all capable of playing small and mega-large venues in their pursuit of global
fame and fortune, and possible backing band for Lady Gaga....
The Disclaimers made their debut in front of a sell-out audience at Aldbury Memorial
hall, and due to increasing public demand have also appeared at Open Mic nights at
the Trooper and various rocking venues across Hertfordshire – all within a four mile
radius of the village, but Glastonbury and Monterey surely beckon.
This evening, lead axeman Ponytail Pete Travis makes his band debut, as the County’s
best kept musical secret and delight is revealed in the highly coveted early evening
slot....Party and feel young again, as the Disclaimers play their fourth gig in as many
years, having rehearsed their eclectic mix of rock/blues thoroughly for as many
minutes.

Jessica Harvey & Tom Nicholls

Jessica Harvey & Tom Nicholls - Jessica Harvey is an upcoming local talent who has
already made a name for herself at local venues; she combines her delicate vocal with
considerable pianistic talents and demonstrates song-craft well beyond her
years. Tom Nicholls is a musician and worship leader from Northchurch who favours
driving rhythm, vocal effects and songs with four chords. Forming a unique doubleact for this evening, expect a blend of acoustic sounds and haunting harmonies,
original material and favourite covers.
The Soulstress, Kirsty Calo
Performing a collection of the best Soul, Motown & Disco classics of the 60’s 70's and
80's...including hits from Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross,

Kelly O’Brien
Kelly O'Brien is country legend Dolly Parton.

Sugar Shack
Armed with an extensive playlist ranging from the 50’s all the way through to modern
chart hits, Sugar Shack is an experienced and highly professional 5-piece band that
brings fun, energy and excitement to any party.
This is the band that played at Live Aid Legend and 80s pop star/songwriter Nik
Kershaws wedding!
Band members have worked with artists including: Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Geri
Halliwell, The Noisettes, Diana Vickers, The James Taylor Quartet, Julio Iglesias,
Westlife, Gareth Gates, Liberty X, Nitin Sawhney, D:Ream, Siobhan Donaghy
(Sugababes), Sharon Corr (The Corrs), Marli Buck (Fame Academy 2002), Steve
Brookstein (X Factor winner 2004) and Paul Stacy (Oasis). They’ve also played support
gigs for Beyonce, The Saturdays, Booty Luv and X Factor's Chico.
They have performed on…. Radio 1 Live Sessions, Dermot O’Leary Show on Radio 2,
BBC2 Live Acoustic Sessions, The X Factor, Top of the Pops, CD:UK, Children in Need,
Ant & Dec, Greasemania, Faking it (Channel 4), Jo Whiley's Live Lounge, and at
London Jazz Café, Birmingham NEC, Glastonbury Festival and Newcastle Arena.

akent@maidmentjudd.co.uk if you wish to reserve one as we are fast selling out of certain sizes. Tshirts will also be available to buy at the event and we will have a supply of fabric pens available in
the Craft Tent so that you can customise yours or get your friends to sign it.
Information about food and drink
You are welcome to bring your own picnic but why not treat yourself - there'll be plenty of great
food on offer!
There'll be soft drinks, coffee and tea, with fabulous cakes from Aldbury's own star cake makers - Pat
Quigg and Kylie Jackson-Moore (bakedbykylie.com), as well as Krispy Kreme donuts, all served until
6pm. Or for a special treat, pre order an Afternoon Tea for Two for only £10 (includes sandwiches,
scones with cream and jam, cakes and as much tea as you can drink !)
Tuck into the BBQ from 5pm - tasty organic burgers from Eastwoods superbly sizzled by the
Barbecue Boys.
For sophisticated grown ups, we've teamed up with fab deli No2 Pound Street in Wendover to put
together a deliciously British picnic bag at £30 per 2 people includes a £5 donation to FOAS) Your
picnic will include superb British produce: a delicious meat platter including fennel salami, traditional
York ham, pastrami and a freshly made pork pie; a cheese board including Keens mature cheddar,
Cropwell Bishop Organic Stilton, Perl Wen, and a Wobbly Bottom fresh goats cheese. Also included
will be sliced freshly made bread, cheese biscuits, olives, antipasti selection and salad. For added
luxury, we can add half a bottle of chilled Graham Beck South African sparkling wine, and superb
Forman's smoked salmon to the picnic bag (£45, including £5 to FOAS).

Wash it all down with a summery Pimm's; beer from Tring Brewery or wine and soft drinks from the
bar: open 3 - 12.
Of course there'll be sweets, crisps , popcorn and candyfloss too, to keep the little people happy, and
the ice cream van will visit between 3-7pm.
Car parking
We anticipate that many of you will be able to walk to the event so, if you can do that we encourage
you to leave your cars at home. If you live further afield and need to drive, you may be able to park
in the field opposite the Rec but this is subject to the hay being cut in time. If this is not possible (due
to the weather!) then car parking will be on the school playground – from there just walk along the
path to the Rec. Follow signs for car parking on the day.
Races 4-5.30pm
The fun races for people of all ages and abilities will start at 4pm. If you would like to take part then
we suggest that you report to the Races HQ tent at the top of the field as soon as you arrive so that
you can register. There will be running, egg & spoon, sack race (divided by age groups) Mum’s Race,
Dad’s Race, Family Fancy Dress Race (we provide the fancy dress) and a family relay. Don’t miss out
on the fun!
Football – all afternoon until you have had enough!
A game of football will be set up for any kids and adults to join in.
Bouncy Castles 3-7pm
There will be 3 different bouncy castles for children or all ages. The cost of having a go on these is
included in your ticket price so you can go on them as much as you like!
The bouncy castles will be supervised by an adult at all times but please encourage your children to
play safely/not to jump on top of others etc.
Crafts & Facepainting 3-6pm
Kids can come to the craft tent to have their face painted, make jewellery, make a mask or a glider.
The cost of taking part is £1 per child, this covers material costs for all the activities.
Kids Discos 6.30-7.30pm
This will take place in the craft tent.
Bits n Bobs
Please encourage your children to bring some pocket money as there will be some small bits and
pieces that they may want to buy!
What to bring with you
You are welcome to bring your own gazebo with you but this must only be put up in a site directed
by one of the organisers so as not to block anybody’s view.
Camping chairs, picnic rugs are a good idea and there will be some straw bales for you to sit on too.
Please bring plenty of warm layers as it is likely to get colder in the evening even if it is a hot day!
Health and safety
Please do not bring dogs with you.
The British Red Cross will be providing a first aid station in the pavilion from 3pm until midnight and
we also have an on-call doctor on duty until 7pm.
Please remember that your children’s safety is your own responsibility. The organisers will be too
busy to ‘keep an eye’ on any children and no young children should be left unsupervised at the
event.
Please keep children away from the stage area and from the hot tea urn on the refreshments stall.
Toilets for women and children are in the sports pavilion and for men there is a portaloo outside.
The purchase of alcohol from the bar is ONLY for over 18s and the Think 21 policy will be strictly
applied – please do not be offended if we ask for ID.
Please do not allow teenagers to bring alcohol to the event as, if found it will have to be confiscated.
We reserve the right to ask people who are drunk and disorderly to leave.
By entering the party in the park you agree to these conditions.
Rubbish
We encourage you to take all possible rubbish home with you for recycling. Otherwise, please put all
your rubbish into the bins provided and don’t allow it to blow away into our lovely countryside.
Leaving the event
If you need to come and go during the day, this is fine, we can mark your wristband for you at the
front desk.
Please leave as quietly as possible out of respect for the local residents. Please do not drink and
drive. It would be a good idea to bring a torch /fluorescent clothing for kids so you can get home
safely along the dark narrow lanes.
