IDEAS at UCLA 220 Westwood Boulevard Community Programs Office 105 Student Activity Center, 106C Los Angeles, CA 90095-1454 For more info please visit www.ideasla.org or contact ideas.ucla.fundraising@gmail.com Spring 2015 IDEAS at UCLA Scholarship: IDEAS was established in October 2003 by a group of UCLA students, administrators, and community members to advocate for undocumented students. As a support network for undocumented and AB 540 undocumented students at UCLA and across diverse communities outside of UCLA, IDEAS members collectively form a camaraderie of people connected by shared experiences, struggles, and successes. Evolving from a support network to a student organization and community project, IDEAS now helps high school and community college students in their transition to institutions of higher education. In the summer of 2004, IDEAS initiated the AB 540 Project to bring awareness of the AB540 legislation and to provide information on educational and financial resources available to the surrounding communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This is accomplished through informational workshops, student panels, counselor conferences, and community events. With the increasing number of undocumented college-bound students made the establishment of an IDEAS scholarship fund an urgent matter. In light of recent unprecedented fee hikes voted on by the UC Regents and the continual financial need undocumented students face, IDEAS at UCLA has embarked on a plan of action to combat the effects. The Spring 2015 IDEAS at UCLA scholarship will be awarded to students in order to alleviate and supplement fee differences. Amount Awarded: Between $300-$500 Eligibility Criteria 1.
