Certification and Costs
The Physical Asset Management Course has now
been run for five years, and is focused and providing
practical information at a post graduate engineering
level to asset management engineers, practitioners
and leaders. The course has the focus of
incorporating the best thinking and experience of
how to sustain risk managed performance.The
content is aimed at providing an overview of how to
establish an end to end working asset management
system which drives sustainable asset contribution in
alignment with business goals.

Who is the Course
Aimed At
Leaders tasked with deriving value from the
ownership of assets. This includes: Asset managers,
operational excellence partitioners, personnel
involved with strategic value contribution and
maintenance managers. This year we are including a
focussed day on risk and risk management.
Understanding
Attending all four days of the course and participating
satisfactorily in two group assignments. Missing any
session or part thereof will disqualify the student of
earning the SUN certificate of attendance.

satisfactorily in two group assignments and passing
the three hour exam on all material covered on the
fourth day of the course.

Sustaining
The course will also incorporate the thinking and
principles of the recently released ISO 550000
standard on asset management. This course
combines research, learning and experience into
three elements:

Attending all four days of the course and participating
satisfactorily in two group assignments, passing the
three hour exam on all material covered on the fourth
day of the course and passing a 100 hour miniresearch project to be completed in the workplace.
The postgraduate credits can be utilized as partial
fulfilment of the requirements for the M.Eng in
Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management. A
total of 60 to 80 credits together with an thesis are
typically required for an M.Eng.
