SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF TURKEY Turkey – Denmark: Open for a Joint Call for Eurostars Projects Deadline for Submission is the 17th. of September 2015 Scope of the joint call Turkey and Denmark are announcing a Call for Proposals for joint R&D projects within the Eurostars programme. The call is focusing on developing innovative products and applications in the clean-tech sector focusing on renewable energy and water and waste water related technology. Applicants are expected to develop ready-to-market solutions or projects with a strong market potential. Although Eurostars is open for projects within all areas, special focus is given to the following domains in this call: • Wind energy, solar cells, geothermal, biomass etc. • Water and waste water management systems and technologies. • Smart grids for electricity The main support event will be the Danish booth and delegation to the ICCI conference in Istanbul the 6.-8. May organized by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science in collaboration with the Danish Trade Council in Istanbul. Matchmaking and B2B talks will be arranged and experts from the Danish Clean Tech sector will participate in the Danish delegation. TÜBİTAK and Innovation Fund Denmark will provide all necessary assistance to project partners including help to find partners for Clean Tech projects. SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF TURKEY Call Launch and Structure The Call is launched the 1st of April 2015 by TÜBİTAK and the Innovation Fund Denmark Eligible partners are invited to present joint proposals for industrial R&D projects according to the following criteria: • The partners should include at least one Danish and one Turkish R&D performing SME. Participation of large enterprises and research institutes/universities are welcomed as additional participants or subcontractors according to each country’s funding regulations. But at least 50% of the project must be performed by the participating R&D performing SMEs. • Industrial and innovation actors from other countries may also participate, but they will not be funded by TÜBİTAK or Innovation Fund Denmark. • The project should have an obvious advantage and added value resulting from the cooperation between the participants from the two countries (e.g. increased growth and employment, knowledge base, commercial leads, access to R&D infrastructure etc.). • The project should demonstrate the contribution of the participants from both countries on an equal base, and the project must be equally significant to all participants. One country cannot represent more than 75% of the project budget. • The project must have a civil purpose. Any partner whose cooperative R&D project is consistent with the aforesaid criteria can apply to the present announcement in accordance with the national Laws, Rules, Regulations and Procedures in effect. SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF TURKEY Financing Each country will fund its eligible participants within the Eurostars framework. Funding conditions and eligibility criteria may vary from country to country. The main aspects of the funding criteria are: Turkey All R&D intensive SMEs which are established in accordance with Turkish law can apply for funding for their international Eurostars projects. There is no budget limit for international projects and they can be funded by TÜBITAK without any restriction in project duration. Only companies participating in international projects are funded within this program but universities and research centers can be funded as subcontractors. Companies receive a percentage of their eligible costs as a grant in this call. There is no maximum or minimum limit to the project budget. The percentage is 60 for large companies and 75 for SMEs. Denmark All R&D intensive SMEs which are registered in Denmark, are commercial active and with a work force in Denmark can apply for funding of Eurostars projects. SMEs are funded with up to 60%, large enterprises with up to 50%, Approved Technological Service Institutes with up to 60% and Universities with up to 90% of their actual costs. Submission and the approval procedures • You can register and up-load your Eurostars application directly on the Eurostars application platform according to the joint Eurostars guidelines. The outlines will be screened by TÜBİTAK and Innovation Fund Denmark. The results will be notified to the companies within two weeks. • The Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science will offer professional assessment of the draft application if it is send to Innovation Fund Denmark no later than 10 August, 2015.
