EDEN LIBRARY2014
COMMUNITY REPORT
Making gingerbread houses
with the folks from Explore
and More is one of our annual
traditions! Popular with all
ages and oh, so tasty!
Left above: Dave Fultz entertained
a large audience by juggling a
variety of things including flaming
wands (don’t try this at home!)
during our annual family picnic
which is sponsored by County
Legislator John Mills.
Above: Therapy dog “Sinatra” loves
to be read to! He loves to come to
the library and let young readers
share their favorite story with him.
Left: Grade 3 students from
Southtowns Catholic School shared
their handiwork as they studied US
monuments and memorials.
Special Thanks To...
… the Friends of the Eden Library for
their sixth annual calendar with photos
from community members. The funds
they raise by selling the calendar have
provided programs and incentives
… Dollar General, Verizon (through
library patron Cindy Renaldo), and the
Eden Teacher’s Association for their
cash donations.
… State Senator Patrick Gallivan
who provided $2500 in “bullet aid”
that allowed us to purchase 2 laptop
computers and several power bars.
… County Legislator John Mills for
hosting his annual hot dog roast and
fundraiser for us in July. Funds from
these picnics will go toward a mural in
the children’s area.
… Laing Funeral Home for their
program that provides special interest
books in memory of area residents.
… the Town of Eden for their help with
maintenance issues and snow removal.
… the ladies of the Saturday morning
Yarn Club for their humanitarian efforts
to help those who are less fortunate. By
the end of 2014 they had knitted and
donated 3304 items to various charities
since starting this service project in
2007.
…to our Board of Trustees who dedicate
many hours to insuring that our library
is adequately funded and maintained
and who diligently attend many countywide meetings throughout the year.
…Ed Krycia who serves as our liaison
with the Eden Town Board
…the employees of Key Bank who
helped with garden clean up.
… all who frequented our annual
spring and fall Book Sales.
… all who have volunteered their
time and talents to make our library a
pleasant place to work and visit.
… all who attend programs and use our
library on a regular basis.
