social justice issues. Her combined skills, knowledge and expertise in these areas have been
recognized province wide, nationally and internationally. Ann spearheaded the renowned
“Creating Culture & Organizational Change” training program for the Human Rights Commission. Ann is also founder and chair of the Black and Immigrant Women Network.

SESSION DESCRIPTION:
MEMBER:
Human Rights: Employers and Human Resource Professionals need to own it! Employers
should not wait for a human rights complaint to practice human rights principles. Employers
need to educate themselves about human rights in the workplace and the value it brings.
Technology has brought tremendous benefits but has also led to a variety of complex ethical
issues and has forced organizations to change the way they conduct their business. Leadership
is the key to welcoming diversity and inclusiveness, and differences.

Participants will learn about:
 Why employers and HR professionals need to educate themselves about human rights
in the workplace;
 The impact of technology and the complex ethical issues forcing organizations to change
the way they conduct business;
 Why human rights must have meaning in the workplace and the advantages of owning
human rights issues; and
 The key role that leadership plays.

prior to June 1, 2015. IPMA-Canada reserves the right to cancel and refund registrations
