Teach For Pakistan Job Description Senior Manager, Alumni Impact Position Title: Senior Manager Reporting To: Function: Start Date: Participant and Alumni Impact July 2015 Location: Director, Participant and Alumni Impact Karachi Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Alumni Impact is responsible for developing and executing Alumni Impact strategies to ensure alumni are working with a sense of urgency and as a connected force towards eliminating educational inequity in Pakistan. This includes leading and implementing the Alumni Strategy, which helps Alumni identify careers that allow them to maximize impact following the two-year Fellowship and effectively engage with TFP Alumni to change the system of education. Leadership Development Framework is a structure that lays out the skills, mindsets, and leadership development Fellows and Alumni need to contribute effectively long-term to ending education inequity. The Senior Manager Alumni Impact role is best suited for someone who can get things done on short timelines, is excited by the mission of Teach For Pakistan, comfortable in positively scoping and developing relationships and think strategically. About Teach For Pakistan: Teach For Pakistan is a leadership development Fellowship for outstanding graduates and young professionals who commit two years to social change, transforming academic outcomes and life paths of students in under-resourced schools. Upon completing their two-year commitment, Fellows graduate to become Alumni, skilled and aware leaders of educational equity. In 2011, Teach For Pakistan inducted its first cohort of 17 Fellows placing them in Karachi’s poorest classrooms. In 2014, Teach For Pakistan has 49 Alumni who have completed the Fellowship, and 65 Fellows in classrooms across Karachi and Lahore. Teach For Pakistan is an initiative of the Aman Foundation and a partner of the international Teach For All network. About the Participant & Alumni Impact team: The Participant & Alumni Impact Team is responsible for developing and managing systems for: 1) Training and supporting Teach For Pakistan Fellows to perform as effective teachers in the classroom and in the wider school environment; 2) Developing leadership capacities of Fellows; 3) Monitoring the performance of Fellows to continuously enhance impact on students; 4) Creating visions and strategies to fuel transformational change in communities across the country with alumni leadership, clarifying and accelerating pathways to leadership, creating and executing forums for advancing thinking on issues of educational equity, and establishing and encouraging meaningful ways to connect and support each other; 5) Supporting Alumni in pursuing high impact careers in a range of other fields. Responsibilities: Alumni Cultivation, Outreach & Support: Create, monitor and update the Alumni Strategy for engaging alumni after they complete their two year commitment and maximizing their impact according to the theory of change Develop strategy for alumni programs and communications 1 Identify and collaborate with external resource persons for conducting skill building workshops and clinics Create opportunities for alumni to support Teach For Pakistan and its mission to end educational inequity Develop career support, transition services for second-year participants Create monthly newsletters to keep all external stakeholders engaged Build Key Relationships: Build strong external relationships with graduate schools, non-profit organizations, and other opportunity providers in order to connect alumni to opportunities to further their commitment to our movement Establish network for alumni to connect with one another and build a community Work with program team to incorporate theory of change and alumni benefits in recruitment materials, selection days, training Research & Analysis: Analyze the local landscape to identify opportunities to grow Alumni impact Utilize data management systems to accurately report and track Alumni progress toward career goals, monitor levels of involvement with Teach For Pakistan, and make data-based decision regarding strategic priorities Additional Responsibilities: Support Recruitment & Selection cycles as a full time selector Actively participate and lead at the Teach For Pakistan’s Summer Institute as a full-time staff member.
