The process will be as follows: May 8: Teachers finalize course grades in Infinite Campus. May 11: Exam exemption notices sent to eligible students via Homeroom teachers. To determine exemption eligibility. May 12 – May 14: Students get teachers of the class(es) they intend to exempt to sign the exam exemption form, verifying the grade; parents must also sign the form before turning it in. May 15: Completed and signed exemption forms are returned to Homeroom teachers by 8:30 am. May 21 – 22: 8th grade semester exams NOTE: Students must have the exemption form signed by a parent or guardian then submit it to his/her Homeroom period teacher by May 15, 2015 in order to exempt any exams. Failure to return the form signed by a parent or guardian or by teachers will result in the student taking all of his/her exams. Late forms will not be accepted. Parent/Guardian Signature: By signing this form, the parent/guardian acknowledges the schedule that will be followed for exam administration and is aware of the exam(s) the student will be exempting. Students are only required to come to school during their scheduled exam times; however, students may come to school during an exempted exam if transportation is an issue. Students who come to school during an exempted exam will either sit quietly in the class in which they have exempted or be directed to another location at the direction of school administrators. They will also attend scheduled study sessions and connections classes. Please note that failure to take a required exam without an excused absence will result in a zero for 15% of the 2nd semester cumulative grade for the course.
