WELCOME TO MAGICAL KENYA
Kenya is a land richly endowed by nature, situated on the east coast
of Africa. It is a land where one can view snow-capped mountains
one day and laze on palm fringed beaches the next. The lush
farmlands contrast with the harsh desert area and the misty
highlands with the sun-kissed savannah. Cosmopolitan cities are set
amidst the last bastions of great herds of roaming wildlife. Kenya
offers the traveller a great safari attraction. It is also a country of
great diversity with much more to offer than only splendid wildlife.
The outdoor enthusiast has a host of choices for adventure. From
the coastbeaches and water-based activities, to the mountains which
present a challenge to hikers and climbers. The rolling savannahs are
a game-viewers paradise.
The country offers fabulous scenery and a variety of tribal cultures.
From its central location, the sacred peaks of Mt Kenya which reign
over a landscape primarily covered by grasslands and thorn trees,
much of it enclosed within its many parks and reserves. Kenya has a
sophisticated tourism infrastructure, with Nairobi and
Mombasacontrolling the majority of the tourism trade. The people
are friendly and visitors can choose to do as little or as much as they
like, and the combination of wildlife, together with its beaches and
mountains, make Kenya a fantastic holiday destination.
History & People
Kenya has known the presence of humankind since the very earliest
development of our species. Moreover, the region has long been a
migratory path, passed through by wave upon wave of peoples from
all over Africa and, later, from the Middle East as well. By the 10th
century or so, the region had developed its own lingua franca,
Swahili, which is a Bantu language heavily overlaid with Arabic.
Among other familiar words, safari is Swahili, meaning simply travel.
With the arrival of the Portuguese at the end of the 15th century,
the East African coastal region was for a time dominated by the
Europeans. However, in 1729 the Portuguese were expelled, to be
replaced by two Arab dynasties. Arab rule lasted until the end of the
18th century, when Kenya passed into the British sphere of
influence. The country became independent in 1963. Although it
has experienced its share of internal and external strife, Kenya has in
recent years been moving toward a more stable, multi-party political
system.
Kenya's population is overwhelmingly (97%) comprised of people
of African descent, though that group is composed of over 70
different tribal groups. Among the most significant are the Kikuyu,
Kamba, Gusii, Luhya, and Luo. Kenya's primary languages are
English and Swahili, though regional tribal languages abound.
Kenya Safari Style
Experience a different safari every day
Kenya offers the traveller an unparalleled range of options. The
incredible diversity of landscapes, cultures, wildlife and
activities mean endless opportunities. With so many choices at
hand, some people find the prospect of planning a trip quite
daunting. It doesn’t have to be that way. In Kenya it is very easy
to plan and prepare for a safari that is as individual as you are,
and that satisfies your own personal needs and interests. If you
are planning a trip, use this website to explore Kenya in advance,
and decide where you would like to go, what you would like to
see and what you would like to do. Here are a few important
first points to think about:
How Long and How Far?
Kenya offers a diverse range of environments all within relatively
close proximity to one another, and has an excellent domestic
travel infrastructure. This means that you can choice to either
stay based in a single location or to move around the country
and see a range of different places. Your first decision should be
how long you want to stay and how much you want to see.
Staying in a single place lets you explore that area in great detail.
In wilderness areas, this is the best way to really get to experience
many facets of an ecosystem. Kenya’s rich diversity of wildlife
means that no two experiences in the wild are ever the same.
For couples, Kenya is a perfect destination for a relaxing break. We
have many secluded, private guesthouses, camps and hotels ideal
for romantic stays or honeymoons.
Kenya is also a great family destination. Kids love Kenya, and the
sights and experiences of a safari can outdo any theme park. There
are hotels that cater especially for families and have special
facilities, programs and safari guides for children.
Your own Style
Look at as many options as you can before you come to Kenya.
Each day you’ll experience and see completely different things. Try and plan for the perfect safari for yourself. If you want five

locals on an individual level.
Alternatively, it is possible in Kenya to take a safari to a
completely different destination every single day. This is a good
option for travellers who like variety of experience and
environment. In a single trip to Kenya, you can visit tropical
forests, beautiful beaches, and deserts, climb mountains and
explore the wild.
Think about how you are going to get around and how long it will
take. Do you want to be use light aircraft to avoid long road trips,
or do you enjoy the experience of driving through the
countryside?
It is possible to plan a safari that blends adventure and relaxation,
luxury and natural simplicity, social experiences and solitude.
Another choice is to decide on 2 or 3 destinations and spend a Consider trying several different experiences and seeing this great

like to visit and how long you’ll spend in each one.
Who to Bring
Whether you are travelling solo or looking for a family trip,
Kenya has plenty of options to suit. Think in advance about
whether or not you’d like to join an organized safari group, or
have your own private transport and guides.
Kenya has plenty to keep the single traveller busy. Organized
safaris and camping trips are often great social experiences and
a good way to meet other travellers. Kenya is popular with
independent travellers, and is quite easy to meet up with
travelling companions on the road.

Africa. Rhinos can be seen with calves at heel. Eland and
waterbuck appear not to notice the human visitors, enabling
photographers to shoot at ease. On the lake in the middle of
the crater you may see thousands of flamingos, fluttering

this is your first time on safari or a return trip, the Serengeti

The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most famous

safari experience as surely as the wildlife that inhabits it.
Established in 1951, and covering an area of almost 15,000
square kilometers, an area comparable to the state of
Connecticut or Northern Ireland, the Serengeti hosts a
fantastically diverse ecosystem. The principal attraction of
the Serengeti is the passing of the wildebeest migration,
when 1.5 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of
zebra, gazelle and other game that follow close behind make
their way across the plains, stalked by the inevitable predators
who make the most of the feast close at hand.

Conservation area. This afternoon is at leisure to participate

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy an early breakfast before transferring to the
Ngorongoro Crater. Descend to the crater floor by 4WD
safari vehicle for a game drive unlike any other you will
experience in Africa with the forest-covered crater walls
rising around you. Enjoy a picnic lunch amongst the hippos
and birds before visiting a Maasai village this afternoon.
The floor of the crater is only 100 square miles but is home
to around 30,000 animals with a high concentration of
predators and some of the finest black-maned lions in
Africa. Rhinos can be seen with calves at heel. Eland and
waterbuck appear not to notice the human visitors, enabling
photographers to shoot at ease. On the lake in the middle of
the crater you may see thousands of flamingos, fluttering
and shimmering like a pink heat haze. Zebra and wildebeest
account for almost half the animals - gazelle, buffalo, eland,
hartebeest and wart hog can also be seen.
