Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) is a Christian non-profit organization supporting the homeless and needy in the Knoxville, Tennessee area with emergency services and innovative programs. KARM is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Marketing and Communications Assistant (PART-TIME) reporting to the DirectorMarketing and Communications, providing accurate, efficient, and confidential operational and administrative support to include support to marketing, communications, special event planning and fundraising for the organization. Summary Position will provide accurate, efficient, and confidential operational and administrative support to the Director of Marketing and Communications pertaining to internal and external marketing, communications, special event planning, and fundraising for the organization. Duties Assist the Marketing and Communications Director with marketing and communications, materials development, and media relations responsibilities Assist with graphic design creation and layout, social media, web management, photography, and video Produce correspondence, memos, and reports in accordance with instructions Assist with various administrative tasks such as file organization, records management, and message returns by telephone and email Represent the ministry in a manner consistent with Christian character Requirements Proficient in use of Microsoft applications and general office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.) Proficient use of professional design applications such as the following: o Adobe Suite – CS6 – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver o Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint o Database and Event Website Design in CRM programs – Kintera/Sphere (Blackbaud), Donor Pro, Donor Perfect, or similar Proficient in various social media applications including Facebook and Twitter Demonstrated proficiency in grammatical and writing skills, excellent organization skills, and attention to detail Demonstrated excellent communication skills (by telephone and in person) Demonstrated competency in meeting deadlines and accomplishing departmental objectives Proficient in spreadsheet development, data organization, and analysis Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information according to procedures Demonstrated ability to work productively with others as a team member Demonstrated interpersonal skills with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and needs Ability to effectively adapt to change Ability to travel short distances and drive to events and other appointments as needed Application Process If you are qualified and interested in this opportunity , please obtain an employment application (click here), and submit a cover letter, current resume and the completed application via e-mail to people@karm.org, fax to 865.633.7650, or deliver to People Services @ 418 N.
