Keota Veterans Keota Chapter AV Memorial Update T.T.T. Meets The Keota Veterans Memorial Committee has been hard at work collecting, verifying and re-verifying names and information for the Memorial. If you have been contacted more than once, please be patient and understanding as we are trying to be as accurate as possible. One of our proposed goals was to list the name of the veteran, branch of service, and if they served in a conflict. An example would be - JOHN DAVID JACOBS - AIR FORCE - KOREA. Because of limited space for a maximum number of characters and the possibility of inaccurate information, the committee has decided to list only names. A directory of some sort will be available with additional information. This directory will be on site on special occasions and also will hopefully be available at different businesses within Keota. To view the latest update of names for the Memorial go to www.keotaeagle.com - the list is located under Latest News. If you have any questions or comments regarding the names, information or Memorial in general contact one of the Veteran Memorial Committee Members and not the newspaper office as The Keota Eagle does not have a master list. The Best Overall Award was given to Taylor Conrad and Aaliyah Heldman for their project, “Scorching Hot & Freezing Cold: The Experiment of How Bacteria Grows.” BY MAITLAND SIEREN On May 7, 1997, Brianna Joy Aliann Reed, otherwise known as Bree, was born. Bree is the daughter of Alycia and Jeff Horras and Ronnie Reed. Bree also has two step brothers, Lane and Ben Horras. Bree’s favorite family tradition is visiting her family in Texas. She ad- mires her mother, Alycia, most because she is always willing to help people out in any circumstance. During her years of high school, Bree has been involved in cross country, soccer, Student Council, Yearbook, CYM, and Speech. She enjoys soccer most because she forgets about ev- erything and plays her heart out. While she is not busy, Bree’s hobbies are being active, art, and online shopping. After high school, Bree plans to attend Kirkwood Community College in the fall for Landscape and Design. She chose this career because she loves being outside and working on new projects. In ten years, Bree sees herself being debt free from college, and having a job she loves. The qualities she has that will get her to her goals are being ready to learn and being willing to try new things. Three things Bree wants to accomplish in her lifetime are to travel, eat healthy, and try new things. Out of all her classes, she enjoys Art the most because it is calming and she gets to do projects she chooses. The class that has prepared her the most for life has been Horticulture because it has taught her more about plants than she expected. KHS has taught her to be more outgoing and eager to start new things in life. She believes these skills are necessary to be successful in her journey.
