Professor Mike Atkinson
“Fifty Shades of Grey: doing physical cultural studies in the era of Kinesiology”
HISTORY
For the past fifteen years, the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto has
hosted an undergraduate student research conference for kinesiology and physical education students.
SCOPE
Undergraduate students may present literature reviews, critiques, term papers, findings from research projects
or work in-progress. This is a multidisciplinary conference that includes topics from exercise physiology,
biomechanics, sports medicine, motor learning and control, exercise and sport psychology, philosophy, history
and sport sociology. Students submit an abstract and are given 10 minutes to present their papers to peers and
faculty. Awards of recognition will be given to the best presentation in each area.
