terrà un seminario dal titolo:
Strategic Positioning of Synaptic Vesicles
Abstract:
Connections in the brain rely on action potential-driven release of neurotransmitter-filled vesicles at
specialised sites called active zones. Structural organization of synapses is known to be important for
normal brain function and its disruption is associated to a number of clinical conditions. Here, I will
describe how we can study functional synaptic vesicles at the ultrastructural level in their native
cytoarchitecture and what we can say about their position within and between presynaptic terminals. I
will conclude introducing a form of spatially-limited short-term plasticity and why the position of active
zones as well as their activation pattern is important for the study of network activity.
