It could then be referred to another city department(s) and returns to City Council with their findings and ultimately a vote FOR or AGAINST by our representatives. Cityclerk.lacity.org -on the right side you will see SEARCH Council Files- Click on it. At simple search, type in a topic EX: Sherman Way Tunnel check out Council File (CF) 14–1153. This is an issue CURRENTLY before the LA City Council. Ms. Nury Martinez (CD6) represents Lake Balboa at City Hall. You can also go to Advanced Search and click on CD6 to see many issues regarding our community. We need help to follow these files which you can do from the comfort of your own home. The LBNC is taking action on behalf of the community and formed an Ad Hoc committee open to all who wish to have a voice and make a difference in addressing this vital issue. There have been sharp increases in jet run-ups and idling, and unnecessary early-turn flyovers that make the enjoyment of our homes impossible. The committee will build a coalition of concerned parties in the region and work with officials and pilots to expedite a resolution to these issues. Over the coming months, it will be the goal of ERaD –Economic Revitalization and Development— LBNC is undertaking a bold new initiative to improve our community. this committee to explain to you, who we are, the purpose for our existence, how we represent you and the community. We will also, explain the process by which all Planning Applications for a given project must go through, to reach a final decision on that project, including the appeal of the decision made by the Department of City Planning (DCP) and your Council Lakebalboanc.org/ moviemadness. We will also explain how build partnerships and awareness for the gems we have you can be directly involved with the process right here in Lake Balboa! We are behind the “Movie Madness” events. come of the decision of a given project Lake Balboa NC sponsored a mural created and painted by the students of Daniel Pearl Magnet High School (Journalism School) with help from West Valley LA Police Cadets and Senior Lead officer Steve Olivares. The mural is a tribute to the slain Wall Street Journal reporter. His likeness, which was approved by the Pearl Family, was painted by Levi Ponce, mural artist. Levi also mentored the students on their creation. Please see this beautiful mural on Haskell between Vanowen and Victory. News of the mural has generated response to the school from around the world. Daniel Pearl Music Days is held worldwide in October every year. Danny attended Birmingham High School. July 25 –August 2, 2015 7000 Athletes / 177 Countries 25 Sports The 2015 World Games (Special Olympics) will be the largest event hosted by Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games. The venues will be world-class, including Special Olympics Athlete Villages at USC and UCLA, and a star-studded Opening Ceremony on July 25, 2015 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, site of the 1932 and 1984 Olympic Games. 7-a-side soccer will be held at Balboa Sports Center.
