Our goal is to have all contractors and sub-contractors participate in this National Stand-Down Day! OSHA has announced a "National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction" campaign during the two weeks of May 4th - May 15th. Accordingly, on May 5, 2015, The Lake County Contractors Association members are encouraged to participate as outlined below. Please share this information with your contractors and subcontractors that may not be on the distribution list. Stand-Down: 9:30 A.M., May 5, 2015 Stop all construction activity at 9:30 A.M. Each contractor will conduct and document a brief safety meeting on a fall protection topic. All contractors and sub-contractors all urged to attend / participate in a safety meeting on one of their projects. Purpose: Raise awareness of preventing fall hazards in construction. Why: Over 80% of construction fatalities recorded in 2014 were falls. Annually, Fall Protection is one of the most frequently cited OSHA standards.
