SOCCER-­‐ BOYS & GIRLS Featuring LRHS Varsity Coach Paul Dinkenor June 15-­‐19, 2015 M-­‐Fri 8am – 12pm Cost: $135 Questions email: pdinkenor@wcpss.net We welcome boys and girls ages 6 – 15, who have not yet entered high school. This camp will provide technical and tactical training for the beginner to the more advanced player We teach all fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, heading and receiving. A goalkeeper coach is also on staff for campers. In addition to focusing on becoming a better player, there will be an emphasis on good character and being the best you can be, both on and off the soccer field. The Pride Men's and Women's Soccer teams have won 6 State Championships and 15 Conference titles. Former college and LRHS soccer stars will participate in the camp. Each player should bring to camp daily: soccer ball, cleats, sneakers, snacks, suntan lotion, shin guards and a water bottle. Label all personal items! GIRLS BASKETBALL Featuring LRHS Varsity Coaching Staff July 6-­‐10, 2015 M-­‐Fr 8:30a-­‐12:30pm Cost: $135 This basketball camp is open to all girls age 8-­‐15 and who are not yet in high school. The camp is designed to help the young player increase their knowledge of the game, provide individual instruction in the fundamentals, and have fun while competing and learning. A major emphasis will be placed on offensive skills…shooting, passing, ball-­‐handling and footwork. Friday’s activities will include team games and individual skills contests and awards. Parents are encouraged to watch these activities in the final 2 hours. The camp will run from Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm with the gym open at 8:00am for drop-­‐off and free play. Pick up will be from 12:30 to 12:45pm. Players should bring a snack. CHEERLEADING Featuring LRHS Head Coach Shelly Reathaford July 13-­‐17, 2015 M-­‐Fr 8am – 12pm Cost: $135 Questions – email sreathaford@wcpss.net The cheerleading camp is open to all boys and girls ages 5–rising 9th grade. Cheerleaders will be grouped by skill level and taught the fundamentals of cheerleading such as motions, jumps, tumble, stunt and dance. Those who are ready for more advanced skills will also be taught proper techniques and “tricks” to make their advanced skills “hit.” In addition, campers will learn original LRHS cheer material, taught by select members of the Varsity Cheerleading squad. Campers will also receive individualized instruction from Coach Reathaford , with emphasis on the school tryout process! Each camper should bring a labeled water bottle and a snack. BASEBALL Featuring LRHS Varsity Coach Coach Guy Civitello June 22-­‐26, 2015 Mon – Fri 8am-­‐12pm Cost: $135 Questions email gcivitello@wcpss.net The Pride baseball team welcomes any boy or girl, age 8-­‐15, who has not yet entered High School. Instruction will cover the fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting and base running. Pitching and Catching instructional sessions will be included. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability. The daily schedule will include stretching, warm-­‐up activities, drills, game situation practice, and daily game scrimmages. Each player should bring their glove, bat, appropriate attire (hat, cleats, etc.) and a pair of tennis shoes in case of rain. In addition, on Friday bring a change of clothes and a towel, as we will be doing sliding drills. Varsity and JV players will be assisting with instruction. Please bring a water bottle and a snack with your name on them. Participants will be introduced to innovative drills, exercises and games to develop proper stroke techniques, winning strategies and good sportsmanship. Each boy and girl is asked to bring a tennis racket, a labeled water bottle, tennis shoes and a good nutritious snack. Campers should arrive prepared to have fun. The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 6 – 15 who has not yet entered High School. This camp will be limited to a maximum of 35 participants! Register Early! 14, not entering high school. Campers will be introduced to a diverse range of track and field events. Instruction will cover running fundamentals and techniques designed to improve both speed and endurance. Campers will also explore hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put and disk. No experience required. Each day will consist of warm-­‐up activities, exhibitions by event experts, drills, teaching sessions and simulated competitions. Campers will experience the sport with the guidance of the LRHS Coaches and Athletes. Each camper should wear shorts, t-­‐shirt, appropriate skin protection and running shoes. Please bring a water bottle and snack with your name on it. This volleyball camp is open to all girls age 6 to 15, who have not yet entered high school. This camp is designed for beginners and intermediate players. Campers will be grouped according to their ability so first-­‐time and younger players are encouraged to attend. Beginners will be taught volleyball basics such as passing, setting, serving, and some hitting. Intermediate players will be taught how to apply basic skills on a more advanced level while working to improve their technique and form. Games will be played daily. Campers will need a labeled water bottle and a healthy snack for a daily Pride Athletic Club

The purpose of this camp is to educate teenagers about the profession of athletic training and sports medicine, to learn basic first aid skills, and to teach treatment and prevention techniques for common athletic injuries. This camp will incorporate classroom instruction with practical experience on injury management. Former and current sports medicine students will assist Mrs. Susan Pridgen Ennis with the camp.
