Situation Solution Build upon Microsoft Windows SharePoint Server, the SayNoToGangs web site is a collection of communication and collaboration sites to provide: Intervention With more than 2,500 gang members active in the county and as many as 12 homicides in the first part of the year, Yakima County launched a County-wide gang commission to help focus efforts in the war on gangs. Collaboration tools in SayNoToGangs allow the many community groups involved to work closer together, sharing information, resources, and communicating amongst each other. The county-wide gang commission needs to work with the various community groups and local Gang Task Forces to prevent and intervene with gangs in a collaborative and coordinated effort. Prevention With the SayNoToGangs solution, communities and citizens have a central, coordinated system to host shared resources, communicate with each other, promote prevention to the community, and provide citizens with tools to use in individual efforts to thwart gang-related activi- Suppression Law Enforcement tools provide communication, collaboration, and effective teamwork to task forces, between agencies, and inter-agency work groups.
