He has remained active in coaching their entire marriage. When they moved to Lexington in 2008, they knew they wanted their children to be active and give them every opportunity to do so. They were one of three couples that founded the Lexington Dirt Devils and were involved until this year. Eric coached club football for six years and has coached the boys basketball winter teams since they moved to Lexington. Practices for the boys basketball winter teams starts in October and end in March. For the last four years, they have started a summer travel basketball club that has boys and girls grades 5th-9th from all over Nebraska with practices held in Aurora. Eric also has helped as a mentor for the Confirmation class at their church the last two years. Ann said that she usually is behind the scenes, working as secretary and organizer of everything while Eric coaches. Ann is also helping coach the girls 10 and under softball team this year. She has been on the Board of Education at their church for the last four years, with the last two acting as director. They do it all for the kids and also want the community to succeed so with that goes hard work and practice. Congratulations!! Senator Williams discussed the death penalty and described the many individuals who testified to repeal the death penalty (past judges, attorneys, victim's families, etc) and only one individual testified to keep the death penalty. Senator Williams also discussed the marijuana expansion and indicated that Senator Garrett will pull the bill today due to lack of support. Regarding this expansion, Senator Williams said there have been several phone calls, emails and letter from our district and they are about 50-50 on this issue. Half in favor and half opposed. Senator Crawford's bill LB390 passed final reading and is on to the Governor to be signed. This bill supports the study of the CBD component of marijuana on individuals who experience epileptic seizures in a controlled medical environment. Discussions also include an update of the definition of K2, since new strands of the drug are constantly being created. There have been a rise of emergency room visits in Lincoln with connections to K2 side effects and use. We also had the opportunity to discuss with Senator Matt Williams the stressors of being away from family for most Senators during the session. This session has been filled with many emotional and controversial issues and Senator Williams discussed coping with this information.
