DAY TRIP—PROVIDE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION. Monday, February 2.
Guided tour: Evergreen Cemetery in Santa Cruz. Attention local
history buffs: Join us for a short jaunt to Santa Cruz for a one-hour docent
led tour of the Evergreen Cemetery! We'll meet at 9:45AM at the Loma Prieta
Community Center, 23800 Summit Road in Los Gatos and carpool to the Cemetery
(off Coral St. next to Harvey West Park) for our 10:30 tour. After our tour,
we'll regroup and go for "lunch on your own" at the nearby Shun Feng Restaurant, 420 River St, Ste A, Santa Cruz (to peek at their special lunch menu, go
to http://www.shunfengonline.com). Cost for this excursion (excluding lunch)
is $10 per person, payable when we meet. We must receive your reservation

Journey to Modesto to visit the Blue Diamond Almond plant. This is the largest almond receiving facility in the
world. View a 20-minute video about almond growing and processing. There will also be a chance to enjoy almond tasting and make some “nutty” purchases. Enjoy a buffet lunch at Hilmar Cheese with time to browse the
gift shop. After lunch we will have a guided tour of the Castle Air Museum in Atwater that features WWI and
WWII aircrafts, plus a visit to the gift shop. Activity Level: 3

Spend a memorable day exploring Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay. We will take the ferry from Tiburon
to Angel Island. Our time on Angel Island will include a tram ride that follows the paved perimeter road of Angel
Island. The tram gives a historical overview of the Island history an stops briefly to enjoy a beautiful view of the
Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco and Alcatraz. Enjoy a hosted box lunch with a sandwich choice of Turkey,
