London Area Outdoor Skills Workshop

Spencer Lodge, 551 Windermere Rd, London, ON N5X 2T1
$15.00 includes lunch and course material
Registration 8:00 am. Course Starts at 8:30 am
Finishes about 5pm
Outdoor Skills Activities:
Develop skills that are needed to safely lay, light and tend a fire.
Be able to demonstrate and explain the use of some common knots.
Have a basic understanding of how to use a compass and how to read
and use a map. You will become familiar with methods to minimize the
chances of getting lost and then what to do if you are lost. Be able
to demonstrate the use of basic camping equipment such as tents,
shelters, stoves, lanterns, knives, axes, and saws. Be able to plan
a menu for a hot lunch. Be aware of what should be carried for any
outdoor activity and be aware of some of the impacts of outdoor
activities on the environment.
