Enroll in a class with your child and enjoy the time spent
making art together. When your child is ready to attend on
his/her own, know that classes children take independently help them find fast friends, grow confidence in their
own unique talents, and learn from inspiring, enthusiastic
teachers.
Developmentally appropriate art projects and skills are
introduced in exciting ways. This allows children to make
connections with what they are learning at home and
school and what they see around them.

Deconstruct Your Stuffed Animal
54029 Three Thursdays, 6:30–8 pm, July 9–30
(no class July 23) [taught by Suzanne Kolodziej]
Have a few Beanie Babies in the toy box? What about a
Webkinz whose secret code doesn’t work! Bring a plushie
(not your favorite) and we will pull them apart, turn their
heads inside out, and explore how they are constructed.
Then each class member donates a few parts—maybe
arms, legs, tails, or ears and recreates a new creature.
Learn about artists that use plushies and stuffed animals
as the material for their art and why.
Each family member should bring one stuffed animal
as their base to work from and a sewing kit. There
will be additional stuffed animals for experimentation
and parts donation.

Summers at MAG are dedicated to the art of upstate New York. In 2015, don’t miss Rochester’s oldest and longestrunning juried exhibition. The works in the 65th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition will showcase the talents of
emerging and established artists from a 27-county region of western New York. They will be chosen by this year’s
juror, Michael Rooks, Wieland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art.
In 2013, the 64th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition featured work by current Creative Workshop instructors
Phyllis Bryce-Ely, Loraine Cooley, Alice Gold, Dale Klein, Dejan Pejovic and Joe Tarantelli. Three of these
artists—Cooley, Klein and Tarantelli—are teaching this summer.
The 65th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition is sponsored by M&T Bank, with additional support provided by
