Weeds can be controlled using a spot treatment of 60ml
Grazon 90 in 10 lt (1fl oz/gallon) of water using a suitable lance
from a knapsack or tractor mounted sprayer. For average spot
treatment use in small areas 30ml Grazon 90 in 5 lt of water
should be sufficient. The weeds should be thoroughly wetted
with the spray solution but spraying until “run off” will decrease
activity. Care should be taken to avoid local overdosing
Ensure the sprayer lid is secure and there are no connections
leaking before spraying
Apply without delay taking care to avoid spray drifting onto
other plants
Once applied, clean out the tank and spray the washing onto
the treated area. If empty, rinse the container thoroughly
with clean water 3 times and dispose of rinsings safely in
the spray washings
If the skin comes into contact with the spray, and after
spraying, wash hands and any exposed skin thoroughly with
soap and water
Keep pets out of any treated areas until the spray, has dried
(normally about 2 hours). As certain weeds can become
poisonous and more palatable as they die, keep all
livestock/horses out of treated areas for a minimum of
7 days and in any case until the foliage of any poisonous
weeds has died and become unpalatable
If you spill the product or spray, cover the spillage with soil
ALWAYS READ THE LABEL. USE PESTICIDES SAFELY.

GRAZON 90
Spot treatment for docks,
nettles and thistles
Grazon 90 – Spot treatment for docks, nettles and thistles
Grazon 90 is a very versatile product
It can be used both broadacre or spot treatment
Broadacre versus
spot treatment
Infestations of 5% or less can be
spot treated. If weed populations
are higher, broadacre treatments
are more cost effective
Grazon 90 controls weeds found in:
Grassland
Scrub
Docks
Nettles
Thistles
Brambles
Gorse
Works quickly – results seen soon after spraying
No effect on grass – allows rapid recolonisation of weed patches
by grass
Only one dose rate – 60ml per 10 lt water (1fl oz per gallon)
Produces – more and better quality grazing, hay and silage
Ideal Weed Size

2% infestation
7% infestation

Grazon 90
broadacre product
e.g. Pastor
Do not apply the product overall where clover is an important
constituent of the sward. Clover will be killed by application of
Grazon 90
Occasionally some yellowing of the sward may be seen
following treatment, this is quickly outgrown
Grazon 90 may be applied at any time of year provided the
weeds are growing actively. For best results, leave an interval of
7 days before grazing and 14-28 days after spraying to allow the
chemical to fully translocate throughout the weed before cutting
the grass
7m
Only use Grazon 90 on permanent pasture or on leys that
have been established for at least one year
Do not direct drill kale, swede, turnip, grass or grass mixtures
into sward within 6 weeks of applying Grazon 90

Time of Application

60ml per 10 lt water (1fl oz per gallon)
Spray to thoroughly wet the foliage of the plant,
but avoid “run-off”
Grass and weeds must be growing actively to ensure good
weed control and minimal check to the grass. Therefore do not
spray in drought, very hot or cold weather conditions
Rainfast – in 2 hours
Weeds per square metre
Apply through a knapsack sprayer
Application Details
Grazon 90 is ideally suited
for knapsack use:
The weed population can be
measured by taking a 5x7 metre
block and counting each perennial
weed within. Each weed equates
to 1% potential ground cover
Rate of Use
Grazon 90 can be applied any time of year provided the weeds
are actively growing, stress free and at the correct growth stage.
The images below are to help you identify the correct timing
– often called rosette growth stage
Grazing Interval
Keep livestock out of treated areas for at least 7 days, and until
foliage of poisonous weeds such as Ragwort and Buttercup has
died and/or become unpalatable
Do not use Grazon 90 to control Ragwort. Affected plants
become palatable to stock. It can take several weeks for affected
plants to either die, or recover and become unpalatable again
Once Grazon 90 has dried on the foliage of plants, usually within
2 hours, it cannot be dislodged, (e.g. by dogs walking through
treated areas)
WARNING SPRAY DRIFT
Many agricultural, horticultural and garden plants are very
sensitive to Grazon 90, so it is important to avoid damage
by drift onto such crops
= 1 weed e.g. dock or thistle
In hot conditions, vapour drift may occur
Grazon 90 can only be applied by someone
with the appropriate certificate of competence
