Teach @ Tübingen – Call for Applications from Matariki Partner Universities Aim: The University of Tübingen’s Institutional Strategy provides financial support for expanding the number of courses it offers in English and for promoting the teaching competence of post-doctoral fellows or of PhD students who are at an advanced stage of their studies. This call for applications is especially focused on our strategic partner universities in the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU). We welcome applications from MNU advanced PhD students or post-doctoral fellows who would like to expand their teaching experience while simultaneously expanding their research horizons with a working stay in Germany under the Teach-at-Tübingen (T@T) Program. T@T candidates are asked to teach classes in English for approximately two hours (or more) per week during the semester, in agreement with the Vice-Dean of Academic Affairs of the respective Tübingen Faculty, where they will be based as a function of their research collaboration. Prerequisites: • Candidates must be at an advanced stage of their doctoral studies or already have their PhD • They must have written agreement from the Tübingen professor with whom they propose to conduct research (Candidates are encouraged to make contact directly with Tübingen professors working in their field of research (http://www.uni-tuebingen.de/en/faculties.html). (Occasionally, the Tübingen Matariki coordinator may be able to help to identify the relevant researchers) • The classes they offer must be made public and open to all students • The classes they offer must be held in English. Length of stay: 1-2 semesters Pay: • PhD students: €1500/ month (part scholarship, part remuneration for teaching) • Postdocs: €1700/ month (part scholarship, part remuneration for teaching) • Travel expenses (documented costs) up to €1000 The University’s Welcome Center offers help with visas and accommodation. Application: Please apply to the respective Dean of the Tübingen Faculty (with a copy to the Tübingen Matariki coordinator), providing the following information: • The name and Institute of the host professor at the University of Tübingen • The direct contact details of the candidate • Information on the candidate (CV) • Support letter from the candidate’s supervising professor at his/her home university as well as a letter from the host research professor at Tübingen • Short draft of the planned course(s) • Start date and length of stay (max. 2 semesters). Closing date: Applications must be handed in by 30 June 2015.
