A legal parent or guardian must come take the class before a child can be registered. Please call ahead and register for class time. Class times offered: 10:30AM Monday-Friday 1:30PM Wednesday 5:30PM Tuesday Registration Guidelines 1. Late sign up (after posted deadline) add $10 to registration fee 2. Out of County residents will have an up charge from $5 to 20% depending on activity or rental. 3. Sign up 2 or more participants for the SAME sport receive an additional $5 off (not valid for programs, special events or aquatics programs) 4. No request for a particular team, coach, or to play with a specific player will be honored. Refund Policy (Athletic teams & team sports) 1. Full refunds will be given prior to the team programs beginning (i.e. division of teams, ordering of uniforms, etc.) less a $5 service charge 2. 50% refunds will be given after the athletic program has started but no games have been played and equipment has been returned. Exceptions: No refund equal to the cost of any special order of sized uniforms (example: Cheerleading uniform) 3. No refund will be given after a game has been played. Non-Team Program Refunds 1. Refunds in all other programs or classes will be made in full if cancellation is done at least 7 days prior to the program beginning. A $5 service fee will be charged if cancellation is less than 1 week prior to the starting day. No refunds will be made after a program begins. What we do during our working hours determines what we have; what we do in our leisure hours determines what we are. – EASTMAN 11 Morgan Marlins Swim Team Offered for boys and girls ages 5 and older (age control date is as of the day of registration). Registration must be done at the Recreation Gym, and the Parent Information and Orientation class is required. All swimmers will be registered with USA Swimming and will have the option to compete in swim meets throughout the state of Georgia. Swimmers wishing to participate must first take the Stroke Development/Refinement course or hold a current USA Swimming membership. Swimmers who have swam competitively in the past but are not members of USA Swimming may be evaluated by the coaching staff. All swimmers will be placed into the following practice groups based on grade, ability level and level of desired commitment: Blue: 6th Grade and younger beginner swimmers not wanting to participate in the full meet schedule. Your Local Madison, Ga 30650 Husqvarna Dealer Red Cross Lifeguard certification class will be offered the weekend of April 10-12, attendance of all class dates is required. Space for the 706-342-4046 class is limited to 8, but excess can be put on a waiting list in the event of a dropout or swim test failure. Participants must pass the Lifeguard swim test, skills assessments given during the class, and all written tests at the end of the class; certifications will include CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid. Cost of the class is $200, which includes the book. There are no refunds for failures of skills assessments or written tests. The swim test will be given the first day, failure results in expulsion from class and a partial refund of $100. The swim test consists of three parts: • A 300-yard swim (6 laps, with a lap being defined as two lengths of the pool, i.e. "down and back". Breaststroke or Freestyle (Front Crawl) must be used. Swimmers may choose one or the other, or a combination of the two. There is no time limit for this portion. • Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10 lbs object from a minimum depth of 7 feet, bring object to surface and swim 20 yards back to starting point on back holding object overhead, place object on the side of pool at starting point and exit the water without use of steps or ladder. This must be completed in 1 minute, 40 seconds. • Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only Participants must be at least 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of this course. All reservations and final payment must be made with the Morgan County Recreation Department at least 10 days prior to your event. A refundable deposit is required for most rentals; deposits can be refunded if canceled before the 10-day full payment period. On the tenth day no refund can be given.
