THE DEVILS THAT HAVE COME TO STAY
Pamela DiFrancesco
A tale that turns the American western on its head!
TIME PERIOD: 1848 California Gold Rush. MAIN LOCATION(S) WHERE THE
STORY TAKES PLACE: Southern California, San Francisco, Sutter's Mill. Buildings,
landscapes, objects, and items important to the story: Much of it happens in the wilds of
California.
Reviews
In her starkly beautiful, poetic novel The Devils That Have Come to Stay, Pamela DiFrancesco
takes us into a dark and violent world that only gets darker with each turn of the pages. As an
acid western, The Devils That Have Come to Stay turns the conventions of the traditional western
upside down. In this novel, like other works in the genre, the white man isn’t a hero; quite the
opposite. And while the traditional western ends in triumph and glory, acid westerns end in
disillusionment and worse. While this book satisfies within the parameters of the genre, it
delivers on many other levels as well. – Small Press Picks, by Beth Castrodale, January 2015
4/5--worth a read! The Devil That Have Come To Stay: This story, a horror-laced desperate
story of a man haunted by nightmares, is a Western...but not your typical John Wayne type of
Western. Below the horror, is a love story of a man who is desperate to see his wife. It might not
be prevalent in the middle of all that suspense, but this is a love story, deep down where it
counts. It is suspenseful, and you can tell the author did her research on mining in late 19th
century California. It's the amount of care that was put into creating this story that makes it worth
reading. Our nameless hero is three-dimensional and relatable, a great lead.

alifornia, late 1848. A nameless saloonkeeper has been alone for months while his wife,
Joanna, is in Coloma caring for her ailing mother. Joanna’s letters, which tell of her
mother’s nervous health crisis and the destruction of the surrounding land, have become
darker and stranger. Meanwhile, the saloonkeeper witnesses several unexplainable events—
voices speaking in strange languages in places where he sees only familiar faces, the mysterious
death of a creekful of fish, a Stranger with a mouthful of gold teeth, and a dying Native
American man who trails white feathers everywhere he goes.
The fields of Sutter’s Fort, near where Joanna is staying, haunt the saloonkeeper’s dreams, and
soon he decides he must leave the sanctuary of his saloon and travel to her. Caught up in a
journey north, the saloonkeeper witnesses the sometimes horrifying, senselessly violent shifting
Gold Rush landscape. Amidst the chaos, he finds his only refuge in thoughts of Joanna. But
when his troubled past emerges in glimpses he struggles to repress, the nameless traveler is left
with a decision that will change not only his life but the lives of everyone around him.

A native of Pennsylvania coal country, Pamela DiFrancesco moved to
New York City at the age of 18, where the streets and lofts of preBloomberg Bushwick took her in. With no family money or support
she put herself through college, doing whatever it took to get by.
Overcoming incredible personal odds that left her hospitalized
multiple times, dodging the law and international extradition, she
completed her first novel on a 40-year-old Olympia typewriter, and
much to her surprise, found it plucked out of the slush pile and
immediately offered a contract.
In addition to The Devils Have Come to Stay, DiFrancesco's recently
published work includes features in The Carolina Quarterly (who nominated a story for the Best
American Mystery Writing anthology), Monkeybicycle, and The New Ohio Review.

Book 2 - The Fabrick Weavers Series
Andrew Post
TIME PERIOD: The Fabrick universe straddles both an antiquated time of steam-power
and black powder firearms—as well as laser guns and starships. Cobblestone drives and
big brass gears right alongside sleek robots, it’s kind of all over the place.
BUILDINGS, LANDSCAPES, OBJECTS, AND ITEMS IMPORTANT TO THE STORY:
The giant metal statue of the Mechanized Goddess. Posed somewhat like a saint, inviting,
arms apart but not in the shape of a cross, is made from found materials. She has
headlights for eyes, a bent starship wing for a robe—tied closed with boat chain. Lots of
rust. She presides over the “loot field” where the snow-swept landscape is heaped with
organized piles of stolen goods that’ve yet to be melted down or traded off.

t has been a time for rebuilding in Geyser, but rumors of a coming attack from the Odium
band of cutthroat pirates is looming. Clyde, Nevele, Flam, and Rohm must strike out
separately to find a way to stop them before it’s too late.
Nevele scours the dark alleys of Adeshka’s neon-lit streets, paying for information from Odium
defectors, and what she learns from one is terrifying—the gang has three days before the Odium
attack Geyser. Their goal: to get at the deposit of wendal stone under the city and use it to create
an army of fabrick weavers, which would make the Odium the biggest threat the planet Gleese
has ever seen.
What makes the threat so frightening isn’t just an attack from the Odium—it’s why.
We meet up with Clyde, Nevele, Flam, and Rohm. Flam, now Sir Flam, head security officer for
the Geyser Royal Patrol, is bored to tears by a city at peace, but finds solace in the constable that
sits next to him, Nula, wondering where his other friends might be. Clyde and Rohm are in the
Lakebed desert, on their way to Nessapolis to find the mythical weaver Ernest Höwerglaz in
hopes of recruiting him to their cause—if, in fact, he exists. They are impended by a gang of skywhale poachers who do part-time work as bandits, and make an unlikely new friend. Nevele

planet of Gleese the tiny little planet has ever seen.
The main characters are:
NAME: Clyde Pyne
SEX: Male. AGE: 20
HEIGHT: 5’11” . WEIGHT: 140 lbs
HAIR COLOR: Black. EYE COLOR: Black (entirely, no whites)
RACE: Human, snow white skin
ATTITUDE: Burdened, doubtful, but shakily resolute. SIMILAR TO: A super-pale Joseph
Gordon-Levitt.
CLOTHING: Take Luke Skywalker, and have him go through the wardrobe of The Man with No
Name from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and exchange garment pieces willy-nilly. High
boots, cloaks, ponchos, deep hoods—all dust-stained from time in the desert. A strange brew of
sci-fi, fantasy, and western. (This style also applies to Nevele.)
OUTSTANDING FEATURES: (Comparing to the cover of Fabrick) Clyde looks identical in the
face, except his hair is now jaw-length. The Royal Revolver he had on the first book’s cover has
been turned into a sword. It’s a two-handed long sword that is made from a dark green metal. It
is embossed (on the hilt and down the blade) with a series of pictograms depicting its previous
royal wielders. Also very important, he is accompanied by a single white mouse (the character
Rohm) perched on his shoulder.
NAME: Nevele
SEX: Female
AGE: 21
HEIGHT: 5’7” . WEIGHT: 120 lbs
HAIR COLOR: Dark auburn (past the shoulder). EYE COLOR: Green (she, unlike Clyde, has
whites to her eyes). RACE: Human, Caucasian. ATTITUDE: Haunted. Verily. But still ready to
stand alongside her friends. SIMILAR TO: If Joan Jett and Frankenstein had a baby.
CLOTHING: Similar to what was described for Clyde above with the sci-fi, fantasy, western
look, but her outfit needs to be no-sleeved or short-sleeved. OUTSTANDING FEATURES: Her
skin is entirely laced up with stitches in crooked, overlapping paths. Her skin is pale but not as
pale as Clyde. Her face is also stitched, but not to the point of being monstrous.
NAME: Flam
SEX: Male. AGE: Indiscernible
HEIGHT: 6’7”. WEIGHT: 330 lbs
HAIR COLOR: Ruddy brown. EYE COLOR: Gold
RACE: Mouflon (basically: a paunchy Minotaur). ATTITUDE: Afraid, but ready to stand by his
friends and do what it takes. SIMILAR TO: Actor Mike Starr, but fuzzy. CLOTHING: He wears
the Geyser Royal Patrol sea foam green surcoat and trousers, kneepads, bracers, and a
breastplate. The whole outfit fits a bit . . . snug. He wears no boots or shoes, since he has hooves.
OUTSTANDING FEATURES: Flam, on the cover of Fabrick, was absolutely perfect. In Sired
by Stone, he doesn’t really look much different but except instead of his blunderbuss he now
wields an antique rifle, complete with the flintlock operation.

Reviews for FABRICK – Book 1
“There were many threads in this story; they flowed together perfectly. Many surprises, which I
won’t go into because I don’t want to spoil this for anyone reading it. Let’s just say the story
unfolds seamlessly. . . . I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys fantasy, sci-fi, action
adventure, and extremely well-written stories.” ~Open Book Society
“. . . exotic locales aplenty, sometimes-grisly battles, and a particularly colorful multispecies

“This story is well written, full of tension, and full of friendship built from nothing but strangers
working together. Mr. Post has created a good team. This imagined world has a lot of depth, a lot
of danger, and death is common. It makes a great adventure.” ~Long and Short Reviews
“A great read for anyone who enjoys their good guys good and their bad guys terrible, Fabrick is
an enjoyable yarn filled with moral lessons about honesty and leadership and staying true to your
friends.” ~Readers’ Favorite

From Prison to Promise
From anonymity to stardom, from rags to riches, this story will remind you that anything
is possible when you choose to make a positive impact.
“There will be times where a shiver runs down your spine, reading how fine a line he walked
and lived; you will weep along with him as he recounts how death has affected him, from his
parents to a girlfriend who commits suicide; there will also be times when you share in his
elation, such as when he is paroled, or when he does his first spinaroonie.” ~ Greg Oliver,
SLAM! Wrestling
“Booker T’s autobiography, From Prison to Promise, is a hell of a book, a noir true-life classic
to put on a shelf next to Iceberg Slim. Booker T casts an honest, clear eye on the life of a kid
who grows into a criminal, one who learns his lessons from a family and community of hustlers,
dealers, pimps, prostitutes, thieves, and killers. He tells it straight, without excuse, how he
figured it as he took every criminal step, and there are more of these kids and young men now
than most of us would like to think about. Unlike Slim’s books, it’s no celebration of selfishness.
Booker T knows exactly what he was.” ~ Bruce Mitchell, PW Torch
“Most of the current crop of wrestlers’ biographies tell funny anecdotes of road stories or fond
reminisces of allegedly sold-out, jammed-to-the-rafters crowds. Some even scratch the surface of
the wrestlers’ private lives. In Booker T: From Prison to Promise, life before the squared circle,
the first volume of Booker T Huffman’s biography, you will read the most intimate details of the
early life of one of the most famous American wrestlers of this generation. Say this for Booker
T: he does not hold anything back in this book.” ~Robert Weir, WrestlingFigs.com

amille of Rou, alias Rose, is one of three elite female bodyguards remaining to protect
Queen Eleanor of France. The unusual guard began the holy pilgrimage from France
to seize the important city of Edessa from infidels.
Along the way, Mamille has been unable to quell her attraction to the strong and handsome
Dominus Brochard, a Knight Templar who has travelled with Eleanor’s guard since the very
beginning. But unbeknownst to Mamille, Dominus has been working undercover on behalf of the
bishop of Clairvaux, ensuring Eleanor’s husband, King Louis, is protected from certain political
advisors with nefarious aims.
Mamille thinks Dominus is way too virile to be chaste, though she honors his decision. Dominus
thinks she is way too beautiful to sleep alone, and his frustration lies in being unable to claim her
for himself. Instead, he watches over her from afar and takes his jealousy out on the enemy
Turks.
But there is someone else watching both of them. Someone with enough power and influence to
tear the king and queen apart and wrest Mamille and Dominus away from each other forever.

Book 3 in the Woodshed Wallace Series
Jeremy Brown
Woodshed Wallace is equally at home in the grittiest alleys and brightest MMA cages of Las
Vegas, but none of that prepares him for the war that awaits him in Rio de Janeiro. Woody is in
Brazil to reunite with his past flame Marcela and the Arcoverde clan and to fight in Banzai Eddie
Takanori’s first international Warrior Inc. event.
Marcela and the Arcoverdes do their best to let Woody focus on the fight, but his instincts are
too sharp. The family is in trouble. Carrasco, crime lord of the notorious, sprawling Rio
slum Axila da Serpente, has taken a liking to Marcela. Carrasco believes he is the embodiment of
an Exu, a spirit driven by lust, vice, and crime, and the spirit has demanded ownership of
Marcela.
Under the burning MMA spotlights and within the brutal labyrinths of Rio’s slums, Woody must
realize what he cherishes most—and what he must fight for—before it is gone forever.
Set in the violent world of professional mixed martial arts…
Jeremy Brown is the author of the Crime Files: Four-Minute Forensic
Mysteries books and the MMA crime thriller Suckerpunch. He has trained
in Jeet Kune Do, MMA, and close-quarters combat and quickly realized it
hurts less to write about such things. He lives in Michigan.

LONG LIVE GROVER CLEVELAND
Robert Klose
TIME PERIOD: About ten years after the Vietnam War has ended, circa 1984
MAIN LOCATION(S) WHERE THE STORY TAKES PLACE:
a small college
somewhere in rural Maine. Buildings, landscapes, objects, and items important to the
story: Victorian house where faculty have their offices; Quonset huts for classroom space;
a silo which houses Marcus's office; a pigsty for the student union and the shrine housing
the brain of President Grover Cleveland; a wood shed where the provost lives a troglodytic
existence; another wooden shack where the brilliant math professor Henny Spox carries

rover Cleveland College was founded during the Vietnam War in the wilds of Maine as a
haven for students and faculty seeking deferments from the draft. It is the brainchild of
Cyrus Cleveland, a descendant of President Grover Cleveland. Cyrus, although a raving
leftist, adores and cheers on Richard Nixon for his efforts to continue to stoke the flames of war,
and in so doing, insure a steady flow of students — and their precious tuition dollars — to
Grover Cleveland College, whose claim to fame is that it is the depository of the preserved brain
of Grover Cleveland, "the most capable of the forgotten presidents." However, at the height of
the college's success, the unthinkable happens: the draft ends, followed by the war itself. For
Cyrus, this is a life-threatening one-two punch not only to the school, but to his health as well,
and he takes to his death bed. As he succumbs to reality, his last act is to give the college to a
distant nephew, Marcus Cleveland, who is a used car salesman in New Jersey and has never been
to college, much less administered one.
Giving in to his uncle's impassioned pleading, Marcus heads north to Maine, "a state he knew
little about except that it was cold, remote, and abutted Canada." His arrival takes the college
community totally off guard. They had assumed that Cyrus, in dying, was taking the school with
him. But they cautiously accept Marcus as the new president. However, their forbearance soon
29 For further information contact: Gloria Goodman, hettyphil@sympatico.ca evaporates when they are confronted with Marcus's rote inexperience and eccentric initiatives,
such as the purchase of a pair of amorous bison to keep the campus grass down. There ensues an
attempt at faculty insurrection, spearheaded by Professor Brisco Quik, a hot-headed political
scientist enamored of war talk. But Marcus, possessed of an incorrigibly sunny outlook, sees the
faculty upheaval as evidence that they are taking his policies seriously and are in truth intending
to offer him their full support. In the meantime, everyone seems to be jockeying to save his or
her own skin, not least Marcus's Executive Aide and Adjutant, the lame and portly Bella Proins,
with whom Marcus falls in love, following which he seems to become even more divorced from
the impending extinction of the college.
All along the way, Marcus is entranced by an idea suggested by another faculty member, the arid
Professor Jim Burns of biology, who is working on a monumental book on mucus and suggests
to Marcus that it is the "small things" that really matter. In fact, just as the school's death knell is
about to sound, it is, indeed, something very, very small that erupts to yank Grover Cleveland
College from the brink of oblivion and propel it into a surprisingly bright future.

STARRED PUBLISHERS WEEKLY REVIEW
Twenty fictional vivisections shock, disgust, and unsettle in this hallucinatory anthology.
The devastation of malicious gossip inspires attempted suicides and helplessness in Neil
Krolicki's "Live This Down," featuring a miscarriage at a pool party. After a shower,
readers will be thrown off balance by the paradoxical culpability and hope of an animal
abuser's redemption in Chris Lewis Carter's "Charlie." Matt Egan's "A Vodka Kind of Girl"
and Tony Liebhard's "Mating Calls" face the pain of relationships, while Jason M. Fylan's
"Engines, O-Rings, and Astronauts" blurring lines between victim and victimizer amid the
terror of school shootings. And flickering pumpkins leer at human frailty and (again)
suicidal tendencies on Halloween in Terence James Eeles's "Lemming". Attacking morality,
formula, and "political correctness," these acts of literary terrorism provoke, belittle,
challenge, and confound, satisfying Palahniuk's demand for "[discovering] a way of saying

Revelation Saga: Book One
Stephen L. Duncan
TIME PERIOD: Present. MAIN LOCATION(S) WHERE THE STORY TAKES PLACE:
New York, NY; Durham, England; Axum, Ethiopia.
A
sweeping high-YA adventure, The Revelation Saga mixes End of Days with elements of
Harry Potter and Raiders of the Lost Ark to create a winning stew of action and teen selfdiscovery. It is about a boy who is an archangel born human who was sent to Earth to
stop the second war between Heaven and Hell.
“Duncan’s novel feels modeled after works by adult thriller authors, such as Steve Berry, using
short chapters and various locales (New York, England, Ethiopia), and he also alternates the
narrative between two voices: Gabe and his evil enemy, Septis. There’s also plenty of quasireligious history that mixes all manner of things, such as the Essenes with the sword Excaliber.
Naturally, this well-paced page turner is the first book in a trilogy, so look for more of the
heavenly host.” —Ilene Cooper, Booklist
“. . . the Christian lore, shifting realities and demonic gore are entertaining. There’s clearly more
to come, and it will be interesting to see how these angels get their wings.” —Kirkus Reviews
“I absolutely love the premise of this book series. Interesting research, plot and dialogue. Duncan
stepped up to the challenge of developing a teenage hero who is a balance of awkward high
school graduate and significant biblical character - no pressure! I was instantly hooked and
stayed engaged through the end...which, of course, is NOT the end. When is the second book
coming out?” Goodreads review, Christine Ray, August 2014

The Revelation Saga is a retelling of the adventures that occurred during the war between
Heaven and Hell, found in non-canonical text and made modern for today’s audience. Drawing
from ancient scrolls such as The Book of Enoch, The Testament of Solomon, and Jubilees,
Gabriel’s story seeks to respect the mythology while telling an original tale.

assassin called Septis burns Gabe’s current home in New York City to the ground and leaves
Joseph’s assistant murdered in a style not witnessed in centuries. Gabriel’s father reveals the
truth of why they are always on the move: Gabriel is one of four Archangels, born human and
sent to stop Armageddon. Now, Gabe must set aside dreams of attending NYU to fulfill a
prophecy kept secret by the Essenes, a phantom religious sect charged with the pre-biblical
traditions of the End of Days. With Septis in pursuit, Gabe and his father travel to the English
university town of Durham, hoping that the last Essene can guide them. Joined there by Micah
(the Archangel Michael born as a girl), Gabe must learn to have faith in himself and accept his
role in the coming war, before facing Septis in a showdown on the ancient Biblical plains of
Ethiopia.

THE JUDGMENT
D.J. Niko
From the Award-winning author of The Sarah Weston Chronicles Trilogy:
The Tenth Saint (Gold Medal Winner, Florida Book Awards),The Riddle of Solomon,
and the upcoming The Oracle
THE TIME PERIOD is Tenth century BCE, and the story takes place in Israel (Jerusalem,
Megiddo, Jezreel Valley) and Egypt (Tanis, Wilderness of Zin).
BUILDINGS, LANDSCAPES, OBJECTS, AND ITEMS IMPORTANT TO THE STORY:
the first Temple of Jerusalem, Solomon’s palace, the wilderness of Zin, the pharaoh’s
palace in Tanis, the Nile, camels, blue lotus, scribe’s tools and papyrus, the king’s ring,
Urim and Thummim and/or the priest’s breastplate of judgment.

The Judgment re-tells the biblical story of King Solomon and his glorious empire—how he built
it and how he lost it. It explores his many passions, namely his weakness for beautiful women,
and how they weakened his faith to the point of spiritual decay.
It explores a world about which little is known beyond what is written in the Bible. Based on
authentic events, the epic story breathes life into the biblical characters, both larger-than-life and
minor, who shaped Israel’s United Monarchy.
It is 925 BCE. Israel and Judah are falling to the Egyptian armies, led by Pharaoh Shoshenq I. As
the Megiddo fortress comes under attack, Basemath, daughter of the late King Solomon, goes
37 For further information contact: Gloria Goodman, hettyphil@sympatico.ca into hiding. When Basemath’s refuge is discovered by the enemy and she and her daughter are
taken prisoner, she realizes there is a traitor among her people.
In the enemy camp, the traitor’s identity is revealed: Jeroboam, one of her father’s top officers,
betrayed the king and sought asylum in Egypt. Now he is back to claim the crown of Israel—and
tear King Solomon’s United Monarchy asunder. Basemath is repulsed at the notion and wonders
how Solomon’s empire, once impenetrable, could so spectacularly fall to ruin.
Flashback to 965 BCE. King Solomon has recently been appointed king and charged with
building the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. He travels to Egypt to negotiate with Pharaoh
Psusennes II about gold for the temple. There he meets the pharaoh’s beautiful daughter,
Nicaule, and structures a deal that includes her. Against her wishes, for she loves the army
captain Shoshenq, she marries Solomon and gives birth to a daughter, Basemath.
Over the course of thirty-five years, Nicaule plots against her despised husband and offers his
state secrets to Shoshenq, now pharaoh, in exchange for his affection. She finds a kindred spirit
in the disenchanted Jeroboam and they form an alliance to betray Solomon and destroy all he has
built. But Solomon is equally to blame for his demise. Power has made him arrogant, permissive,
and estranged from the one thing that has brought him glory: his faith.
Return to 925 BCE. Basemath learns of her mother’s betrayal: not only did Nicaule deceive
Solomon, she told Shoshenq that Basemath was really his child. The pharaoh has come to take
them both back to Egypt. In a final, heroic sacrifice, Basemath puts her own life on the line to
save her daughter’s—and to preserve the secret entrusted to her by King Solomon.

“Malfi is a man of many voices, a sort of literary version of Mel Blanc (the “man of a thousand voices”),
but all of his voices are captivating, though none of them quite the same. Horror and crime fans will find
much to like here.” ~ David Pitt, Booklist

FLOATING STAIRCASE
SUSPENSE/THRILLER/HORROR
Gold Medal winner in the 2012 Independent Publisher IPPY Awards for the Horror genre
Nominated by the Horror Writers Association for the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel of 2011. A
classic ghost story with a modern, meta-fictional twist …It looked like a great house. They were
wrong …At first the picturesque house in an idyllic small town seemed perfect for Travis and Jodie, the
surrounding woods and lake like a postcard. But soon after they move in, things begin to . . . change.
Strange noises wake Travis at night. His dreams are plagued by ghosts. Barely glimpsed shapes flit
through the darkened hallways—shapes bearing a frightening resemblance to a little boy. Footprints
appear. Strangest of all are the wooden stairs rising cryptically from the lake.

SEEING AMERICA
LITERARY
". . . a heartwarming, gut-wrenching story about finding out the meaning of the word 'home,' realizing that
'different' doesn't always mean 'insignificant,' and finding oneself by getting lost." -Lisa Senftleben,
Library Thing
For anyone who likes historical fiction, coming of age fiction, early 20th century US history; anyone
interested in Ford Model T’s will be interested in this exciting story. The issues in this novel cover
racism, blindness, coming of age, the changing of American culture to one of automobiles rather than
horses.
This is a story about three young men (17, 18, and 19), one of them blind, who set out in a brand new
Model T Ford from a tiny town in 1910 Missouri to “see America”. It’s a road trip, it’s a story about
forging friendships, it’s about coming of age and deciding what to do with one’s life. The backdrop for
the boys’ story is the build-up to the July 4, 1910 championship boxing match between Jack Johnson and
Jim Jeffries, which proved to be the biggest divisive racial event in the U.S. since the Civil War.

PAPER HEARTS
Debut novel
YOUNG ADULT
“This book is filled with really awesomely crafted characters, from Michelle and Nathaniel to
Nathaniel’s grandmother (what a gem!), from Michelle’s completely self-absorbed mother to her
scumbag of a boss. It has a plot to match—the plot twist came completely out of nowhere. . . . I was so
completely blindsided. It was almost (but not quite) Fight Club level.”
—karaelaine1991, Library Thing
“Paper Hearts is a perfect title for this book because both Michelle and Nathaniel are fragile and
vulnerable much like a paper heart. While Nate doesn’t allow the world’s ugliness to dampen his spirits,
Michelle uses her anger as a shield to ward off others before they can hurt her. I thought this was a great
debut novel and I loved seeing Nate and Michelle’s relationship grow.” —68papyrus, Library Thing
41 For further information contact: Gloria Goodman, hettyphil@sympatico.ca Paper Hearts deals with a myriad of issues including escapism through music, emotional trauma,
rape, bullying, abuse, and spousal infidelity. Each element has a distinct purpose, and many of
them come from a very personal place. It’s about coming to terms with your past and
overcoming your present.

CANARY
Young Adult
WINNER SILVER AWARD for the 2014 IPBA Ben Franklin Award for Teen Fiction (13-18 years)
CANARY is unique in the fact that it’s told in a mix of prose and verse, as Kate narrates the story and
documents her life in blog postings full of poetry. It’s a story about finding self-worth and the social
struggles that young people are faced with in today’s times. A story of finding your voice in tough times
even though the consequences could mean turning your world upside down. The majority of the story is
told in first person by Kate, the main character, and at the beginning of each chapter there is a blog post
from her. Canary has a strong message for teens.

FIVE BLUE RIBBONS!
"Vanquished by Hope Tarr is absolutely wonderful! Her characters are very real. ...Vanquished is
a must read, and I anxiously await the next book." ~ Romance Junkies
"Against an incredibly textured backdrop of Edwardian politics and social change, Tarr pens a
vibrant tale of love's ability to heal scars of the past. And not unlike the era itself, the genteel
veneer of Hadrian and Callie's awareness of each other gives way to highly sensual passion
churning beneath. Fans of intelligent, sexy historical romance in the style of Jo Beverley will
take to Vanquished". ~ Nina Davis Copyright © American Library Association
"Vanquished is an intriguing historical romance ... Filled to the brim with intrigue, sabotage,
secret agendas, hate, love and betrayal, Vanquished is a book that should fulfill anyone's criteria
for an enjoyable – and memorable – read." ~ Elizabeth, Novelspot

"I can easily recommend Enslaved. Thoughtful and well-written historical romances are scarce
on the shelf and this book is too good to pass up." ~ Ellen Micheletti, Like Books
"The likeable lead couple makes for a fine Victorian romance that will have the audience rooting
for the pair to find a way to remain together. Character driven, Gavin and Daisy struggle to
overcome their past and their perceptions of what is best for the other. Although Gavin’s cold
blooded interfering grandfather seems more like a Dickensian stereotype, the support cast
especially his two pals Harry (see Vanquished) and Patrick (future tale) augment an enjoyable
tale." ~ Harriet Klausner, The Midwest Book Review

"Hope Tarr's Untamed is exactly what a reader needs! Her lush settings are a perfect backdrop to
a clever storyline. Just when I thought I'd figured everything out she'd put in a new spin to keep
me hungry for more. Her characters are passionate, outspoken, humorous and honest. Readers
everywhere should add Ms. Tarr to their must-read list."
~ Kerensa Wilson, Romance Junkies
“Tarr is an intelligent and sensual writer with an eye for detail, and Untamed is a meaty treat.”
~ Barbara Samuel, BookPage
"The third The Men Of Roxbury House tale (see Enslaved and Vanquished) is a terrific historical
romance that returns the stars of the previous novels in support roles. However the story line
belongs to the lead couple who share in common two feelings: love and a belief they are
undeserving of love. Readers will appreciate Untamed a fine entry in a strong Victorian series."
