These workshops have been designed to offer you practical tools and strategies to enhance your leadership capacity. Performance Management: Developing a Culture of Accountability As a result of attending this physician education workshop, participants will be able to confidently: • Provide the rationale and an overview of a performance management framework • Identify the signs or symptoms of a likely performance issue involving a frontline physician • Initiate a performance conversation encompassing clinical and behavioral issues with frontline physicians • Differentiate between a constructive and ineffective feedback conversation Creating a Respectful Workplace: What a Physician Needs to Know and Do As a result of attending this physician education workshop, participants will be able to confidently: • Identify what constitutes bullying, harassment, respectful and disrespectful communication • Provide the learner information about the process to register a concern regarding bullying, harassment, respectful and disrespectful behaviour • Discern the options about how to approach and resolve bullying, harassment or disrespectful behaviour by a physician • Utilize a feedback tool Facilitators: Wayne Balshin Effective Meetings for Physicians As a result of attending this physician education workshop, participants will be able to confidently: • Utilize a 2 page meeting guideline to plan, prepare and deliver more effective meetings. • Apply the skills of balancing facilitator, physician and/or leader roles in meetings. • Increase meeting participant engagement through the application of specific facilitations tools shared in this course. • Address disruptive behaviors and differing opinions in meetings, in order to keep meetings on track. • Define and create accountability for participants beyond the meeting by shifting intention into action.
