(eLOA)
Obtain from Registration Website. Verify all details;
if all information is correct, submit electronically.
Please note that your eLOA can be printed if
desired. You will receive a message of “Successful
submission”; in the absence of this message, or if
you submit in error, notify PGME at
Pgmeins@uottawa.ca.
If the eLOA is inaccurate, DO NOT submit; contact
PGME. You will receive an email providing resubmission instructions.
Note that PGME will submit your eLOA to CPSO
on your behalf; CPSO will not accept it
otherwise.

CPSO
Renewal of your CPSO license is done online.
CPSO will send a renewal package by mail upon
return of your eLOA by the PGME office. The
package will include deadline and renewal
instructions. Please do not delay the renewal
process.

*CLINICAL FELLOWS: Any resident completing a
residency program and being subsequently
appointed as a Clinical Fellow must either renew
his/her Educational license or apply for an
Independent Certificate of Registration if intending
to bill OHIP for services while pursuing the
Fellowship. No trainee will be permitted to bill OHIP
with an Educational license.

to pay the registration fee. You can pay your fee
once you have received your Re-registration e-Kit
which will contain your University of Ottawa student
number/account – this is all you need to pay the fee.
Please note that you cannot continue training
until your fees have been completely paid.

Registration fee refunds apply to residents only for
those starting off-cycle; must be submitted no
more than 30 calendar days after the resident’s
final day of training. Forms submitted after the
deadline will not be accepted.

Additional requirements exist for VISA trainees –
these requirements include a valid employment
authorization (work permit) and proof of health
insurance coverage. Please be advised that you
cannot continue training until your fees have
been completely paid. Note that if you are
sponsored by the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau,
your registration fees will be paid directly by the
sponsor.
In the event of an emergency, it’s vital that you
receive reliable information as early as possible.
The University is therefore implementing the
Emergency Notification System (ENS) to ensure
you can be reached efficiently and effectively
through a variety of methods.
Effective July 1, 2015 all trainees must obtain a
uOttawa email account.

password as well as forwarding instructions to be
sent from the Faculty of Medicine Information
Management Service (Medtech).
