Trumbull Read Aloud Trumbull Public Schools 6254 Main Stree t Trumbull, Connecticut 06611 TO: Trumbull Community Volunteers RE: 26th Annual READ ALOUD DAY WHERE: All Trumbull Public and Private Elementary Schools WHEN: Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (Coffee at 9:00 a.m.; Read from 9:30 to 10:00) Research shows that one of the most important activities for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children. The Trumbull Rotary Club, in cooperation with all of the Trumbull public and private elementary schools and their volunteer organizations, is once again sponsoring the Trumbull Read Aloud Program. This marks the twenty-sixth year of this successful program and we invite you and approximately 180 other volunteers to join Rotary Club members and civic leaders to give an hour of your time to read a book in one of the Trumbull grade school classes. This year the theme “How Does a Garden Grow” has been chosen, in concert with Trumbull’s One Book, One Town theme “The Food We Eat”. We will furnish the books, training, and refreshments. Please complete the form below and fax or mail the form to the address listed on the form no later than March 25, 2015. You can also email your response to ciarmelr@trumbullps.org. We will advise you of your school and class assignment.
