Welcome to
MONTROSE WOODS
at Auldearn, near Nairn
Montrose Woods is a unique residential development located in the heart
of Auldearn, offering a range of architect designed, customisable housing
types to match your budget and your family’s needs.
Situated less than three miles from the fishing port and market town
of Nairn, Auldearn is a place with a fine sense of tradition and a strong
feeling of community. It lies on the ancient road from Inverness to
Aberdeen, now bypassed by the A96.
There’s a good primary school, a charming village square called The Rose
Gardens, a post office shop, excellent restaurants and an 18th century
parish church. One of its links with the past is a 17th century pigeon loft,
known as the Boath Doocot, now in the care of the National Trust for
Scotland. Nearby woodland gardens include those of Brodie Castle, just
four miles away.
AULDEARN
A better environment in every aspect
The quality of life in this area of Scotland is second to none. Nearby
Nairn, a popular holiday destination, is known for its sandy beaches,
riverside walks and championship golf courses. In fact, within a sixtymile radius there are some 40 courses to choose from.
Eight miles from Auldearn lies Culbin, a huge area of sands and forest
with a fascinating network of tracks to explore, stretching east to the
village of Findhorn. It’s a wonderful place at any time of year. In winter
you’ll see sea ducks feeding off shore, as well as Brent geese arriving
from the far north. In late spring and late summer bar-tailed godwits and
oystercatchers flock here.
Many of Scotland’s most outstanding attractions are within an hour’s
drive. They include Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Fort George, Culloden
battlefield, the Cairngorms National Park, Loch Ness and Castle
Urquhart.
The area is also an angler’s paradise. The Nairn Angling Association holds
eight miles of fishing, offering some of the best Salmon and Sea Trout
Association water in Scotland. The fishings are over seven beats and
include some excellent fly water.
