Kids of Special Forces Rodeo
17 & 18 April 2015
This event is geared towards giving the children of Special Forces the opportunity to participate
in a Western Rodeo in conjunction with a North Carolina High School Rodeo.

Age Groups / Entrance Fee
Boot Scramble: 10 and Under - FREE
Chicken Round-Up: 10 and Under - FREE
Stick Horse Barrels: 5 & under & 6-10 - $5
Stick Horse Poles: 5 & under & 6-10 - $5
Wild Goat Milking (2 man Team): 5 & under & 6-10 - $5
Mutton Busting: 4-7, Maximum weight 50lbs - $25
Calf Riding: 8-10 no weight limit - $25
(One parent gets a $5 admission for one child entering an entry fee event)

(Contestants arrive for Registration at 3:00 pm to start at 4:00 pm)

Stick Horse Barrels: Trophy 1st Place 5 & under & 6-10, Ribbons 2nd - 5th place.

Wild Goat Milking (2 Man Team): Trophy 1st Place 5 & under & 6-10, Ribbons 2nd - 5th place.
Mutton Busting: 1st Place Buckle and Jackpot
Calf Riding: 1st Place Buckle and Jackpot
Entry to events (Not Chicken Round-Up & Boot Scramble) will be done by “Call In”. There will be a
limited number of participants (First come first served). Safety helmet and vest are required for mutton
busting and calf riding, loan equipment will be available.

Names of participants and parent discount will be listed at the gate. Entry fee will be collected on the day
of the event.
(If there are older kids wanting to participate, even if not members of Junior High or High School Rodeo, it
is possible for them to enter on Permit to the main rodeo, any events....6th -8th graders for Junior High, and
9th-12th graders for High School.....there is some paperwork involved, and permit fee, as well as entry fees)

Chicken Round-Up
Kids will line up as the judge instructs them, then 3-5 chickens will be released, and on "GO" kids will run to
try to catch one of the chickens. Once a chicken is caught the child will run with the chicken to the Judge
Boot Scramble
Kids will enter the arena and take their boots/tennis shoes off and leave them at one end of the arena in the
designated pile...then the kids will be sent to a starting line at the other end of the arena.....boots/tennis shoes
will get scrambled up.....then on "GO" kids will run down, find their matching pair of shoes/boots, put them on
and run back to the finish line.
Wild Goat Milking
There will be a goat staked on a lead. Team will be given a bottle....on "GO" they will run to the goat, one
'mugs' (holds the goat still) while the other squirts "milk" (substance in the squirt gun) from the udder (squirt
gun) and fills to a designated line on the bottle, then runs to the finish line. (TIMED) On the 5 & Under kids,
we may have someone assisting in holding the goat, unless we make sure the goat is a little tame.
Mutton Busting
Mutton Busting is an event held at rodeos similar to bull riding or bronc riding, in which children ride sheep.
Calf Riding
Calf Riding is an event held at rodeos similar to bull riding or bronc riding, in which children ride calves.
