Please remember to drop your children off along the curb, pull up as far as possible, and refrain from using cell phones while driving through the parking lot. I’m also asking parents, if someone different or new is picking up, please let them know our parking lot procedures. Just a reminder, please only park in open spaces to avoid blocking in parked cars. Thank you! Have a great weekend! When we create class lists, our primary objective is to provide positive experiences for all students. We work to create balanced classrooms that address different personalities, abilities, special needs, learning styles, and peer relations. Our teachers are very thoughtful in their student placements. A variety of school personnel (specialists, counselors, interventionists, etc.) are asked to provide input where appropriate. The teachers know the children in the school environment and obviously have unique insights into their social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. We recognize that you value your child’s education and can offer valuable insight into your child’s classroom placement. However, I do ask that you do not request a particular teacher; rather your request must address your concerns about specific needs of your child. Please submit a letter to me by Apr. 17, 2015, in writing or by email (rederemer@mpsomaha.org). 5th grade April 13, 14, 20, 21 (Dahl & Wright) April 16, 17, 20, 21 (Schwarz) 4th grade April 13, 14, 20, 21 3rd grade April 16, 17, 23, 24 Please remember to keep the office updated with your most current information. This includes work, cell, and home phone numbers, childcare providers, address changes, etc. In case of an emergency, we need to be able to contact you. Also, please be sure to let us know of any changes to your email address as well. Thank you! SAFETY NEWS—It is important for us to be sure that we are always ready for any kind of emergency at school. We practiced a tornado drill this past week, and we practice fire drills each month. On Friday, Apr. 17, we will also practice a bus evacuation drill. Bus drills are a federal and state government requirement and we are required to have two per year. We make sure our students and staff have practiced what to do in these emergency situations.
