The FBI Omaha Citizens Academy Alumni Association would like to assist local students in their efforts to further their educational goals with a scholarship provided by Citizens Academy funding. One applicant from Nebraska and one applicant from Iowa will be chosen to each receive an individual $1,000 scholarship in support of their higher education. Applicants must be a junior with a 2.75 GPA or higher and plan to attend an accredited two or four-year college. The applicant must obtain a letter of recommendation and write and submit an original essay regarding an experience that has greatly influenced his/her life and how he/she will use that experience in the future. Heartland Pride Scholarship Awards Program. Heartland Pride has established the Heartland Pride Scholarship Awards program to assist GLBTQ individuals and those who support Kids’ Chance of Nebraska Scholarship. Must be between the ages of 16-25 years old. Must be a dependent of a parent who suffered either an on the job fatality or injuries that had a significant adverse effect on family income. Proceeds can be used for accredited vocational/technical school, junior college, undergraduate or graduate programs. Copy of a completed FAFSA is required. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: April 15. Eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa Car Council’s Paul High Memorial Scholarship Application. Open to anyone who is planning on enrolling in an automotive technology program at an accredited trade school, community college, or university. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: Applications must be received no later than April 15. Pink Bandana Beat Breast Cancer Scholarship. Pink Bandana is an non-profit organization which raises money and awareness about breast cancer for women 40 years of age and under. The applicant must have a parent the GLBTQ community. Eligibility: Those who plan to enroll or are currently enrolled in a full-time course of study for the 2015-2016 academic year at an accredited two– or four – year college, university or technical school located in Nebraska or Western Iowa. Nebraskans for Peace Scholarship. Three $500 scholarships and six $100 scholarships The James M. Cox Foundation. The Foundation provides scholarships to high school graduates who have demonstrated financial need in order to pursue post secondary education. The student must be a 2015 high school graduate with an academic record that indicates he/she will be successful in the field of higher education he/she has chosen. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of need; therefore, a FAFSA must be completed. that has battled breast cancer in the past 10 years. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: Must be received by April 30. Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska-Jim Hanna Memorial Scholarship. It is a $500 scholarship in memory of Jim Hanna open to the child of any ICON member who plans to attend college in the fall of 2015. The recipient is allowed to attend any school in any major of their choice. The student must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be involved in extracurricular activities.
