Dr. Stytz has over two decades experience in cybersecurity and information security technologies, including
experience in academia, government, military and industry. He is a thought leader, as represented by his hundreds
of speaking engagements and publications.
For the US Government, Dr. Stytz managed $62M+ in research programs for the US government, conducted over
$12M+ in research grants for the US government, and saved several hundred million dollars in software program
development costs on US government programs.
Objective
Develop, lead, and manage large, technically demanding projects in computer science and engineering, medicine,
and human behavior and intelligence.
Key Skills/Competencies
 Innovation, Invention, and Development: Creative & visionary technology developer. Inventions include a
software security test environment, a botnet simulation environment, a cyber attack simulator, a 3D medical
imaging system, an on-line collaboration environment, high-fidelity simulation of orbital and deep-space
satellites, and a system for prosthesis customization. Holder of two patents and two registered inventions.
 Research program management: Managed over $62 million in research projects for the US government on
projects ranging from two people to thirty people that completed successfully, on-time, and on-budget. Unrivaled
ability to identify, analyze, and correct research program issues early in the program, resulting in significant
savings. Innovative, motivated, team-player, mentor.
 Program management: Two examples illustrate my proven ability. Saved over $30 million in program costs by
early identification of software development issues in the Global Positioning System (GPS) control software
upgrade. Saved over $15 million in software program costs by early identification of errors in the Theater
Medical Information Program. Managed programs for DoD, DARPA, and other government entities. Combines
ability for detailed planning with flexibility and adroitness in achieving program goals and products. Qualityfocused, successful, poised, results-oriented, problem-solver, professional leader and manager.
 Technical breadth – Expertise in cybersecurity, electronic medical record systems, intelligent systems,
cloud/virtualization computing, virtual environments, robotics, software protection, privacy, SOA, data
visualization, data mining, distributed systems and decision support
 Technology readiness/maturity forecasting/deployment: Evaluated/assessed programs for medicine, data storage
security, SOA, GPS, networking protocols, malware defeat capabilities, SaaS, SaaS cybersecurity, data protection,
cyber defense, wireless and wired communication security. Couples exceptional technical breadth with ability to
discuss/address large-scale technical issues and technical details with equal ease.
 Technical writing and speaking: Excellent speaker and writer for both technical and non-technical audiences,
Authored over 275 refereed papers, three book chapters, book reviews, and over 1000 speaking appearances in
national and international venues. I communicate technical concepts and ideas clearly and concisely.
