SUMMER FESTIVAL
AUGUST 21 - SEPTEMBER 6
ANGEL FIRE
TAOS
LAS VEGAS
RATON
2015
There is much to celebrate at Music from Angel Fire. We
are growing, and that is a direct result of the feedback and
generous support of our loyal patrons from around the
country. Thanks to additional funding, we are offering new
things this summer: an expanded Young Artist Program,
chamber music classes for our audience (you!) and deeper
collaborations with school districts in Northern New
Mexico. Outside of the festival, we are growing, too. In
April, we launched the first annual School Residency
Program. Four students traveled to New Mexico from
the Curtis Institute to work side-by-side with students
in the Cimarron Municipal Schools. It was an enriching
experience for everyone and we look forward to this new
tradition at MFAF. Finally, we are focusing on establishing
a sustainable future, building
infrastructure and growing our local
and national presence. Please join us
this summer as we gather to celebrate
the music, the mountains and the
many friendships!

MADE IN AMERICA
Our 2015 Season, Made
in America, is a season
of celebrations. We
celebrate American
composers and music,
as well as international
composers that were
inspired by our great
country or wrote special
works while in residence
here. Dvořák’s iconic
String Quartet, subtitled
“American” is a perfect
example, written during
the three years he lived
in the United States
between 1892 and 1895. We celebrate our 2015
American Composer-in-Residence, David Ludwig, and
Young Artist Composer-in-Residence, Alyssa Weinberg.
We celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Town of
Taos in a special program at the Taos Center for the
Arts, as well as the great tradition of Spanish music
and Flamenco dance, promising to be spectacular fun.
Come celebrate with us!

Music in Our Schools Program
The Music in Our Schools program, now in its 17th year,
presents interactive
and informal classroom
concerts for schools
throughout the
Northern New Mexico
region. School begins in
mid-August, at the start
of the festival, which
means that year after
year the Young Artists
provide one of the first
outreach programs these
students experience
upon their return to school. In 2014, the Young Artists
performed 25 concerts in 20 schools, serving a total
of nearly 3,000 students.
Youth & Family Concerts
Hosted by violist Toby Appel and performers from the
Young Artist program, the youth and family concerts are
designed for a young audience in an informal setting.
These fun and educational concerts are presented in
collaboration with area schools in Taos and Eagle Nest.
