The six-week long festival starting from 01 May 2015 will feature 24 workshops and 17 plays by some of the finest trainers and theatre groups in the city. The current season will include wide range of workshops across Acting, Art and craft, Communication skills, Magic, Music, Photography, Theatre, Comedy, Dance and much more helping your kid to spend their vacation in an exciting, fun and creative way Ms. Deepa Gahlot, Head — Programming, Theatre and Film, NCPA said, “Summer vacations are special time for children where they can explore and learn new and innovative things. At NCPA, we believe in introducing kids to various forms of the arts from an early age. Summer Fiesta is one such attempt-- a festival loaded with fun and learning, workshops and plays. We offer children a platform for entertainment and expression.” Every year, NCPA Summer Fiesta has seen an increase in the number and the variety of workshops. This year, NCPA introduces even more creative avenues for children to engage with. There’s something for every child starting from the age of 4 years till 18 years, with activities ranging from music, dance and theatre, to creative writing, puppetry, magic tricks, photography and craft. This year the festival will include innovative acting workshops like IMPS – Soloist, Acting Shmacting and SPIT by Silly Point that guarantee laughter and fun while exploring the best elements that make up comedy, tragedy, horror and melodrama. Participants will have the opportunity to perform on one of NCPA's stages after the workshop, to showcase the talent they have honed over the two weeks. Workshops that ensure to bring the creative best out of impressionable young minds include Arts and Craft – Orient of The Pearl that will introduce Japanese and Chinese art; Puppet Making to learn the creative art of puppetry; Roar and Draw that will introduce kids to animal inspired artworks and Photo Framed that will help budding photographers understand the core fundamental concepts of photography. One of India’s best magicians, Kruti Parekh will personally train kids on how to practice magic tricks at the A for Abracadabra workshop. NCPA brings together different strokes of dance forms with the Jhummur Dance from East India and Animal Gaits in Dance that would introduce the three Indian classical dances hailing from the different parts of the country. The Magic of Music workshop will aim to introduce the participants to several different orchestral instruments, and create a relaxed, creative environment for the children to feel comfortable expressing themselves through music This year, the fiesta also plans to hone the kids’ communications and public speaking skills. The Big Debate is a workshop for teens focused on monologue, solo speech and debate. WeKids Radio will create junior RJs who would be hosting a show on the Radio Performance Day.
