The Council was started in May, 1930 by Needham residents to help their neighbors with food supports during the difficult days of the Depression. Senator Leslie Cutler was President of the Council Board for 35 years ...here she is at her retirement party in 1970. In 1980 The Council's 50th anniversary was celebrated with an entire local newspaper section which one our our volunteers recently brought to us....what a treasure!
