The Benefits ● Overcommitted teens with busy lives or transportation issues don’t get left out ● Staff who can’t get off the desk can still provide stellar programming ● Programs can help promote library initiatives (e.g. Teen Facebook Page) ● Your statistics look great! g n i m m a r g o r P d e t c e r i D f l e S f o s e Typ ● In-house circulating items ● Teen lounge video games/board games ● In-library or online bulletin board discussions/activities ● Contests ● Take-home kits ○ Crafts ○ Science Experiments y r a r b i L c i l b u P e Atlantic City Fre Librarian Megan England, Teen g n i m a G e g n u o Teen L o G o T ! t i e k Ma New kits every month 20-30 kits All supplies provided except basics like glue, pens, etc. l l a W e g n u o Teen L Voting -- Questions -Feedback -- Polls -ANYTHING INTERACTIVE! d r a o B b u l C k o o Teen B e g n e l l a h C r e k a Monthly M Martin Freeman approves of selfdirected learning! . c t e , s t s e t n o Displays, C ● ● ● ● Voting Submissions Contests Competition Brackets y r a r b i L c i l b u P p Monroe Townshi Services lt u d A g n u o Y & e c n re Sue Grotyohann, Refe s t c e j o r P t u O Teen Take “Brand” created in 2011 Grown from monthly to ~ 20 per year Boxes: www.papermart.com When I run out of boxes, or the parts won’t fit, I use zipper seal bags. It is intended to offer an alternate path into their busy lives, and to show them that you care enough to work around their needs. Point-ofservice contact is a critical component, a way to touch their lives.
