Gaming Machines Swift European market access

Gaming Machines
Swift European market access
It is in everyone’s interest that gaming machines are fair, accurate, and offer a reasonable chance of winning.
However, each country has its own set of rules when it comes to certification. NMi can arrange approval in every
country required.
Efficient certification
There is a lot of variation in gaming rules between different countries, especially in the AWP market. Each country
has its own legislation with differing requirements such as minimum payout percentage, minimum duration of the
game and maximum hourly loss.
There are also differences in the requirements for test
procedures. Some countries require live testing with the
test computer connected directly to the electronics of
the gaming machine, while in others the machine must
be tested as a whole entity. Yet others require testing
of software at the development stage, encompassing
code read, compilation and empirical testing. NMi offers experience and expertise in all of these approaches
to testing.
Reliable approval
We carry out verification of gaming machines with the
utmost care and our testing is not limited to compliance. For example, we also check software for bugs
which might work to the disadvantage of the owner.
NMi testing reduces the burden on the internal testing
function, and gives manufacturers the added level of
assurance required by the modern gaming market.
Service after testing
Our service includes more than certification. We make sure that the authorities in the countries where you want to
sell issue your declaration of approval. To do this, we work closely with the Governments of European countries.
Clear access to Europe
NMi’s focus on the European market ensures we understand the subtle differences in the statutory requirements for
machines and test procedures. For this reason, NMi test reports have a reputation for being technically and legally
sound and easily portable to additional jurisdictions. After a standard test procedure, additional tests can be carried
out to test compliance with country-specific regulations. This integrated, NMi, approach reduces cost, lead times and
cuts through administrative overheads.
NMi conducts certifications for many countries and the number is steadily
increasing. We are actively involved in carrying out initial verifications,
follow-up verifications and sealing in the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium,
Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Croatia, South Africa, Lithuania and the UK.
Apart from the Netherlands, NMi has test labs in Italy and the UK.
Local approach
NMi takes the view that Europe is comprised of countries with their own
unique cultures, protocols, legislation and outlook. Through local offices
in Europe, we offer compliance-testing services delivered by local experts
in their customer’s own language and adapted to fit in with their working
practices. We are now able to offer manufacturers of gaming equipment
and software a ‘road map’ into Europe, through their developing network
of localized laboratories and contacts with the gambling regulators in
almost every European country.
Quick, transparent service provision
With NMi’s vast experience, we can test gaming machines quickly and effectively. The approval of a gaming machine
can be completed within three to six weeks depending on the number of countries involved. Our services are offered
at a fixed price.
International agreement
NMi is campaigning for the introduction of sound and unambiguous test protocols for gaming machines internationally. NMi was extensively involved in setting the specifications of the requirements to which all machines must
currently conform in The Netherlands.
