2015 Deary - Experience the Magic!
Pony Club Camp
June 28th to July 1st, 2015
Sponsored by Paradise Creek Pony Club
Opening Date: May 1st, 2015
Closing Date: June 10th, 2015
Who & What:
The Pony Club Camp at the Hatley Ranch just outside Deary, Idaho began in 1967, and is still running strong. Over the years
the schedule has changed slightly, and this year we are continuing with the format used over the past three years. Camp is open
to any Pony Club member (Unrated (UR) through A) or Horsemaster. Campers must be 8 years of age. Camp is considered a
learning experience. It is a great opportunity to prepare for your next certification (rating) as there will be opportunities to work
on Horse Management with feedback from instructors. Special topics will be presented depending on the general need of
participants. Mounted lessons will be arranged based on camper numbers and level of riding skill as determined by the
instructors. Instructors are: Erin Gallagher, Ann Shideler, and Liz Tukey.
Duration of camp:
Camp officially starts with check-in between 4-6 pm Sunday, June 28th. We will have dinner about 6 pm with an
informational meeting and activities to get to know everyone. Please plan on getting your horse settled in before dinner. Camp
ends Wednesday, July 1st by noon.
Camp package & Chaperones:
Campers get lessons, stabling (for one horse – additional horses must pay for stabling), a T-shirt, and all their meals (Sunday
dinner – Wednesday breakfast). Additional meal tickets are available and must be purchased in advance. Riders will
participate in two riding lessons each on Monday and Tuesday and one on Wednesday morning. Some lessons may be private,
but majority will be group lessons, depending on numbers. There will be unmounted lessons throughout camp, as well as
campfire and skits! Each camper must have a chaperone on site at all times. Campers will receive additional information
upon receipt of their registration if necessary. Upon arrival you will be greeted and directed to your assigned stall. You may
find a camping place near it. Once settled, please check in with the secretary.
UR and D1 options
This year we are offering two UR & D1 camp options:
Option 1: No horse, just unmounted lessons. Includes meals, t-shirt, facilities and unmounted lessons.
Option 2*: Similar to regular camp but with all group lessons
*Note: Must attach a letter from you DC indicating your ability to ride in the open.
Meals & Shirts:
Meals are included for the participants in Pony Club Camp. Adult meal packages are available during camp for $45, and
additional child (up to age 12) meal packages are $35 (Sunday dinner through Wednesday breakfast).
Meal Packages must be purchased with entry. You are welcome to provide for yourself, however open fires are not
allowed except at the community fire ring.
Commemorative ‘Deary’ shirts are offered, see this year’s logo above. T-shirts are included for the participants, and
additional t-shirts ($18), sweatshirts ($28), and hooded sweatshirts ($38) may be purchased. Shirt sizes available to order:
Youth Medium (YM), Adult Small (AS), Adult Medium (AM), Adult Large (AL), and Adult Extra Large (AXL).

You may add one tent at no extra charge with every unit. If you are traveling with another rider you need to

aware there will be a camping fee. Please check in at the cook shack/event office.
Stabling:
10x10 and 12x12 panel pole stalls (not covered). Bring your own shavings (no straw allowed)
Stalls are limited and will be assigned upon receipt of complete entry. Ponies and small horses will be in the
smaller stalls, which require a stall guard and screw-eyes, larger horses will have large stall priority. Stalls must
be clean & stripped at the end of use.

number is 208-877-1381, however; you must use a calling card to call out.
Entries &
Waivers:
Entry must be complete for stalls to be assigned and for you to ride. All persons planning to ride a horse on
grounds must submit signed waivers. Pony Clubbers – the Deary waiver is enough with your membership.
Non PC -- the non-member waiver must be signed; this includes children and those not competing (“extra” horses
will have stabling fees & must sign non-member waiver). Any outstanding accounts need to be settled before
your entry will be accepted. You will be notified upon receipt of an entry.
Late Entries &
Cancellations:
We will not accept late entries! We move to Deary early and cannot accept entries past the closing date
of June 10th. All cancellation refund requests will adhere to the Cancellation Policy below.
Horse Papers:
Coggins Test,
Brand Inspections
& Health
Certificates
An interstate certificate of veterinary inspection (Health Certificate) is required for travel between
Idaho, Oregon & Washington, however, as of April 6, 2015, horses traveling between these three
states are EXEMPT from having a current EIA (Coggins) test. Brand Inspections are HIGHLY
recommended as we have had brand inspectors come to our camps in the past, and fine participants
who did not have correct paperwork with them. Please bring your horse paperwork with you to
camp, but we are not requiring copies of them with your entry form.
Refunds/Cancellation
Policy
Before the closing date, less $15 (office fee). After closing date, less $25, and only upon receipt of
