Junior/Senior High students will receive their report cards on April 23. All students should be focusing on their aca- demics to end the school year on a positive note! Each class will be asked to do a themed basket for the Silent Auction and any cakes or baked goods that you would like to donate will be appreciated. NQCS PTA Dress Code The following dress code is in effect at North Queens, this includes dances and extracurricular activities: Any clothing displaying references or text relating to alcohol or drugs, sexual, sexist or racial content, or profanity will not be permitted. Clothing should cover the midriff (belly) area and cleavage. Skirts or shorts should be long enough to cover to midthigh. The site http:// talkwithourkidsaboutmoney.com/ has sample lesson plans, fun activities and learning opportunities to engage junior high students in discussions about money and personal finances at home and in school. Financial literacy is a topic that is going to be aligned with new learning opportunities in the near future and already is a unit of study that all students in high school will receive via their mathematics courses that they take. Scent Free School Please note the signs posted around the school stating ―This is a Scent Free School. We encourage students, staff and school visitors to avoid wearing products with fragrance or strong scents, such as hairspray, soaps, colognes, deodorants, aftershaves, etc. These chemicals can cause serious health problems for many people especially those with asthma, allergies and environmental illness. The Parenting Journey The Parenting Journey is a program to empower families and promote the healthy growth and development of children and youth through individual- ized, home-based support. Families with children ages 3 to 16 are eligible for the program. Elementary Running Club Elementary Run Club will start next week. All students in elementary are welcome to join. It will be will be sent home about held on Tuesdays and Run Club.
