CENTRE FOR FRENCH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Who are we ?
The Alliance française was founded in Paris by personalities such as Louis
Pasteur and Jules Verne in order to make French language and culture better
known and loved around the world.
130 years later, more than 850 Alliances françaises in 135 countries welcome around
500,000 students in their classes. The Fondation Alliance française, created in 2008
and officially supported by the French Government, coordinates this unique network.
The Alliance française de Limerick is a non-profit making association established in
1944 in the heart of the city. Registered charity and supported by the French Embassy
in Dublin, our aim is to promote the French language and the cultural diversity of all
French-speaking cultures.
