YOUTH ACTIVITIES
Fitting and Showing
Youth fitting and showing is Saturday, May 30th at 6pm. There is NO entry fee. Prizes for everyone.
Classes: Novice (Grades 4 -12, 1st time competing in showmanship), Pre-4H (3rd grade and younger),
Junior (Grades 4-6), Intermediate (Grades 7-9) and Senior (Grades 10-12). Enter at check-in or upon
arrival. Exhibitors in the showmanship classes may use any animal they choose. It does not have to be
entered in the open or embedded youth show, nor must it be registered in the youth’s name.
Embedded Youth Show
This year we will again sponsor a special embedded youth show as part of our open dairy goat show.
1. Animals must be registered under the name of the youth participant or be their project animals.
2. Animals will show in the regular open class age division. NOTE: There are reduced fees for
youth animals in the youth rings (Bartholomew Jr and Bice Sr).
3. The Junior doe youth show will be on Saturday in Robert Bartholomew’s ring. The Senior doe
youth show will be on Sunday in Jennifer Bice’s ring.
4. Entry will be $3/doe for the 2 youth rings.
5. The highest placing youth animals will come back for a special championship class in each breed.
These champions will then compete for a Youth Best in Show award. These classes will
immediately follow the judging of the open class champions. Note: As per ADGA rules, these
champions will not be eligible for a championship leg unless the animal wins the open class
division as well. This is NOT a separately sanctioned ADGA Youth Show.
6. There is no limit to the number of entries per youth as long as the does are in the youth’s name or
are their project animal. Reduce fees only apply to the two youth rings.
7. Please note all youth exhibitors MUST indicate yes or no in the “Youth Show Entry” column for
each animal entered in the show.
