improve the quality of life of Central Brooklyn by fostering economic self-sufficiency, enhancing
family stability and growth, promoting the arts and culture and transforming the neighborhood

The Child Center of NY: A powerful community presence throughout Queens, reaching 18,000
children and their families each year. Their mission is to help at-risk children and youth succeed
in life. They guide children from birth to adulthood with evidence-based, innovative programs
that engage them with school and help them become secure, capable and confident.
CUCS: Housing: Uptown HUD-VASH Scattered Site Program: CUCS offers housing and services to
veterans who either have a VASH voucher or are VASH eligible. This small, just-launched
initiative represents an expansion of CUCS Uptown program, which the organization first
established in 1986. Also, as part of the Single Stop USA, CUCS also provides assistance with
Outreach, Mental Health, Benefits, Referrals, Employment and Reentry from Incarcerations.
5.
Funding Sources for Veteran and Military Family Services and Programs: Robin Hood invests
about $15 million a year on the program, delivering benefits worth an estimated $204 million to
