Commodore’s Report …
By the time you read this Olcott Yacht Club will be buzzing. We
are using our Web Site, Face Book, Scuttlebutt and email Constant Contact to keep you informed of everything happening at OYC. Just in case
one of these missed you...opening night is Wed, April 29 with just Grog
Room menu then full menu starting Friday, May 1. As usual, until July we
will be open only Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun. Julie, Zach and the rest of the
Staff will be here to welcome you.
In an effort to encourage Wilson boaters to come to Olcott , the
Board has voted to rescind paragraphs 4, 5 and 6 of the Reciprocal Use
Policy under the Club By-Laws. These paragraphs limited Reciprocal Members to 2 visits per month and eliminating these paragraphs will
allow unlimited visitation by any Reciprocal Club Members. Pattie Schneider is also planning joint races with Olcott and Wilson to expand activity
between the local Clubs. We hope this will increase visitation to Olcott
and possibly generate more activity in the OYC Bar and Restaurant.
I wish to thank both the Board Members as well as a good many
other Members that helped in getting the Club ready for the season. It
seems like it takes as much effort to restart a closed facility as it would
to maintain it year round, just crammed into a couple weeks.
See you at the Club, I look forward to greeting friends at OYC, old and
new.

Happy Spring... Started spring cleaning on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a nice day, so the crew
took advantage and did some out side clean up, along with
some inside cleaning. Sunday was cold and windy so we
did some more inside work. The Club looks really good.
Got thru the tough winter with no found surprises. Thanks
to all who came down to work.

Treasurer’s Report …
Registration forms for Adult and Junior Sailing are available
on the website. Please spread the word to non-members
about these great programs.
. Winter has finally subsided, the clubhouse has received
its Spring cleaning, and another season of fun is about to
start for the Olcott Yacht Club. So it’s time to come on
down to the Club but first be sure your membership is renewed!
Dues were due on April 1st, so for those who have not
sent in their payment yet, now is the time to do so. I thank
the majority of the membership who have already paid up.
As an important reminder, if you have any amounts due
to the House account, please pay them separately from
any membership dues since those funds are kept separate
on our books.
Again, if you have any questions feel free to contact me.
I look forward to seeing everyone soon down at the clubhouse.
Pattie Schneider
Sincerely,

Sailing Programs …
The best way to introduce a prospective member is to bring
them to the Club of course, but if you have a friend or
neighbor who you think might be interested bring them an
opening weekend bulletin. They provide a very nice overview
of who we are and what we do on and off the water.
Thanks to Marilyn Harris for the contribution to Mantel
Club in support of the Junior Program in memory of Wally
Miller. Back in the days of the OYC “Tiller Jockies” Wally
and crew bested the best of the Toronto Sailors.
They will be available when we open.
