Royal Readers OOTW Reading Club 2015 Out of the Woodwork, Inc. “We Are Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made On...” Shakespeare, William. Tempest Act IV, Sc. I Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was an avid reader and encouraged education for members of her court and their families. Join Queen Elizabeth and her Court and become a Royal Reader in the OOTW Reading Club. Open to elementary school students. Rules: 1. Read a story (fiction or non-fiction) that interests you. 2. Submit a short description of the book and/or a picture that illustrates the story from the book. Include the title of the book and the author. Tell what you liked or disliked. 3. Rate the book on scale of 1 (not good) to 5 (very good). 4. Yearly registration is required. Registration needs to be received between 1 November 2014 and 1 February 2015. To enroll, a guardian, teacher, or caregiver must submit the official entry form. This form may be submitted by itself or may accompany the first book review. 5. Submit your book review and/or picture. Include your name, grade, and city. Reviews may be submitted by mail or sent by email. See submission form for details. Reviews must be submitted no later than 1 May 2015 in order to allow sufficient time to send awards to the address specified during enrollment. 6. Book reviews and pictures will be displayed on the educational website, ootweducation.org. Only the reader’s initials, city, grade, school name (if provided), and teacher name (if provided) will be displayed with the review and/or picture. Reading Levels and Awards: All readers receive a Royal Reader membership card and certificate of achievement. Awards are cumulative. Number of books read 1-3 4-8 9-14 Reading Level Townsfolk Militia Knight 15+ Lord/Lady Royal Reader Ribbon Ticket to Virginia Renaissance Faire Virginia Renaissance Faire Trading Card Pack or equivalent award Royal Reader Patch or equivalent award Best reader awards: 1. The person who reads the most books between 1 November 2014 and 1 May 2015 will receive a family 4-pack of tickets to the Virginia Renaissance Faire. 2. The best readers from each grade level will receive 2 tickets to the Virginia Renaissance Faire. 3. Private Knighting for the class* participating in the Reading Club with the most books read. Teachers wishing to participate must register their class with OOTW. (*Knighting will be held for schools within 150 mile radius of Lake Anna Va. An alternate class room award will be provided for schools outside this radius.) 4. OOTW reserves the right to substitute alternate awards. 5.
